Has anyone had any problems with bad stone chipping on the standard alloys for the 991 GT3?

it's been brought up before, so I guess so, but massive flat bits of alloy and stones, don't go hand in hand.

yes but this is much more than I would expect and I have to say there was no chipping on either my 996 or 997 GT3s - maybe its something to do with the wheel design and angles of the fins

I recall seeing a 991 GT3 at Spa last September with significant pitting on the alloys...they do seem to attract a lot more unless the paint itself is 'thinner'?

My 991 GT3 has just over 2000 miles on the clock and as far as I'm concerned the wheels are shocking. Over the weekend I had a look at a 997GTS with gloss black wheels. They where in perfect condition. I think the satin finish paint's the problem. The paint on the wheels is so thin and just not durable enough. My cars going to my OPC to see if anything can be done. If they wont do anything I think I'll get them powder coated.
