997 Turbo Prices

Fair comments, but:-
The 991 is still comparatively new. In a few years time (longer term), when they've tumbled in price, it'll be a different story.
New cars depreciate faster in value shocker - But as I was buying my car NOW that's irrelevant. I think as the cars get older and the values bunch up together who is going to want the older car? I really don't think PH is a good guide, as by definition its for enthusiasts, to whom the manual box, or Mezger if they want to heavily modify the car will appeal, but for most buyers the newer car will appeal as will the PDK, just look at the relative number of PDK cars sold - it's what most people want. For me it was also about warranty, I paid approx £10k more for my 2010 gen 2 versus a 2007 gen1, so I can keep it under Porsche warranty 3 years longer. The 991 is still comparatively new. A lot of gen 1 997 turbos were made, though it seemed (when I was buying mine in 2009) that most were tiptronic. The OPCs' line was that the car was designed to be tiptronic and better for it, and that only a minority went for manual.
I would have bought a manual if i'd gone gen1 as the tip was awful. PDK different gravy though Skrambles said:
I drove quite a few gen 2 turbos (and turbo S), including quite a few at Silverstone. They didn't feel newer to me, and certainly didn't feel any better than the gen 1, but I did like the PDK much more than the tiptronic - that certainly felt newer. PCM3 was an insignificant difference and already seemed dated. (In-car tech is an area in which Porsche is years behind BMW, IMO).
All subjective of course, but most people who drive both go for the gen2- as has been mentioned several times on this thread - it just felt much more alive to me, and PDK transformed the driving experience. I beg to differ again - I've had iDrive in my M cars and currently in my X5 and while good at certain things its actually quite awkward to use when driving I find. The touchscreen nav on PCM3 i find really good and the other key factor is the much better iPod/iphone/bluetooth integration. Horses for courses

It's not a PDK Zanderman said:
Thats a gen 1? On a 2009? Is that right? From my understanding Gen 1.5 were early 2009 cars that were fitted with the interior/PCM3 from the Gen 2 cars but still had the Mezger 3.6 engine from the Gen 1 car. I don't know but assume all the suspension etc. is still very much Gen 1 so it is purely a cabin refresh.
Some may say the best of both worlds (sound like Jeremy Clarkson reading that back!) but probably only in the manual version as the auto was still tiptronic and not the PDK that came later with the full blown Gen 2.
That 1.5 that you linked to is a very nice looking car and great mileage with OPC warranty.

Exactly that - it's a gen 1 manual, the only difference is the addition of PCM3 and Bluetooth (welcome to the year 2000 Porsche, they had BT in Nissan Micras for 5 years before this) and iPod connection.
Arguably the most desirable 997 turbo, as its manual not tip
Looks great in white with lower spoilers and sills painted, pretty shocked the pads and discs needed replacing after 18k miles unless it was the usual OPC con, but good news for next owner I guess

Not sure, gen 2 started in 2009 and it has PCM3 but it says gen 1.5??
Ah, the mythical 1.5? So its a gen 1 with a few updated bits.mollytherocker said:

I think you're on recreational pharmaceuticals lol
I'd have to be on drugs to put aftermarket wheels on a TT in place of the lovely OEM ones Lovely car though
Those after market wheels are very light and forged by the way. They also allow wider tyres at the back and front which makes it far less understeery

This was one of the reasons why I didn't buy this car from West London OPC 5 months ago when it was up for £62k, with 18,000miles on the clock.
Current owner has owned it for 4 months and done 4,000miles in it.

Problem with this car is the fact that it wasn't serviced for 4 years prior to 2015.

Are you sure it's the same one? Wouldn't it need to have full history to get extended Porsche warranty up to 2017? Original oil from 2011 to 2015.

Says FSH by Porsche in the add
I don't see FSH mentioned. Only the last service consisted of etc etc. Also, "maintained by Porsche West London throughout". I was considering this car but it sold very quickly.
Edited to add: I see on the seller site it says Full Porsche Service History but not on PH. I've just found the story of this being bought on another forum.
