Hi fellow 911 lovers, i'm thinking about fitting LED's to the @rse end of my beloved 997 911. when i bought her, she already had LED front side/drive lights. Question is... i don't know whether to go for Gen 1 all red tail lights or GEN 2 lights. Are there any good quality LED's out there on the market? I really like to go OEM but always have to keep the old ££££'s in mind wink. Any feedback appreciated. TA.

Go for Dectane shipped from Germany as they look closest to OEM without rear bumper change, whereas some of the others out there are too obviously aftermarket Lexus like. I think they do all red and standard versions for the 997.1 aperture. Although they cost more than some, they are top quality OEM like, worked on my cars (2 x 997.1 Turbos) for nearly 4 years and I sold them on ebay for 70% of my original purchase price which was amazing.

with the Euro what it is the price is even better than when I bought. Note they are a lot heavier than your normal bulb housings on 997.1

If they seem to cheap there's probably a reason, copies?
I think Dectane can be fitted without issues but I've read some LEDs you can get warning lights come up if not fully compatible.

Why would you buy on eBay when you can go direct to dectane themselves using the link above for approximately £380 for the pair? No confusion for me. eBay prices at £999 are simply someone trying their luck to rip someone off.

Dectane supply different resistor packs with their light to avoid bulb blown warning lights. Had no problem over nearly 4 years with mine.

Having gone from a Gen 2 to a Gen 1, you certainly notice the difference. The older lights really age the car. Are there any UK suppliers for the Dectane made ones?

I bought direct with no problems and that guarantees genuine parts
