Discussion
I did not think the 991 GT3 would hit 139k till winter but 2 weeks on and they are still dropping at a large rate

Thought you had ordered yellow?
What do your spidey-senses tell you about where GT3 prices are heading...not back as low as base price I assume; though all previous variants have!
I got cold feet on yellow (looks great though imo) I nearly switch back to yellow Tuesday lol , I est 991 prices at £139k not till Sept, they seem to be falling quicker than that though !What do your spidey-senses tell you about where GT3 prices are heading...not back as low as base price I assume; though all previous variants have!
one would have to say £129k in Sept now which for a high spec car was list.

Where would your entry point be if you were in the market for a GT3?one would have to say £129k in Sept now which for a high spec car was list.
PS - my initial question was a leading one, what colour have you gone for instead?

I would say a fair number of owners of 991 GT3's who are either drivers or speculators are not bothered..they can see the cars fall another £20k and still be up small or flat which on a 2 yr old car is a nice position.
That assumes that most cars for sale were bought at list. I think a fair few were also bought when they were on the way up at around £130/140k. I agree the list price buyers should be much more laid back about any price movement.

If you bought equities for £100k and they had gone to £180k, and were now headed down, there would be a temptation to sell and pick up at a lower price. No?
If an only car, then different thought process but a gain is always nice to cash in.

If you want a nice drive on a Sunday, the 997 is a better option.
Tbh, as much as I love my 7GT3, I'm not sure it's even a Sunday afternoon car unless you happen to live somewhere particularly out of the way and far from plod Apart from a run every few weeks to keep the oily bits oily, mine only gets used for charity track rides, some track days and weekend road trips. For everything else, the 993 is by and large more enjoyable - not as hardcore, but more thrashable and for longer trips more comfy (my shoulders are too wide for the buckets)What are peoples thoughts on the Porsche GT market over the next 12 months?
In my opinion with the number of 991 cars being offered for sale at the moment this will slowly reduce the prices.
If a quality low milage spec 991 cars fall towards list price this will have an impact on the 997 and 996 cars.
Would u go out and spend your money on a 2007 997 car for 85 to 90 k with 30k on the clock and 5 owners or would you stretch yourself a little more and go for the more modern low milage 991?

As I've missed out on both GT4 and GT3RS I may monitor GT3 prices rather than a high 5 figure 997 GT3. Not sure where prices will end up though.
Over the next 12 months the 991 gt car could be the one which helps correct the current overheated pricing. To jump into a used 997 for 70 to 90k would be plain crazy at the moment.I
Just been having a look at the 991 GT3's for sale on PH, it seems that if you want a decent spec car then £150k + is the price
Need to start saving more!
As a side note, I see that hardly anyone specced the leather dash, a massive mistake in my opinion, the plain plastic dash looks a bit cheap and base-spec-Japanese-saloon-from-the-80's

Not sure if he 991 GT3 is fully representative of the market, but is an easy one to follow. Would an OPC buy one for stock right now, and if so what would they offer? That's a sensible entry price for a anyone keen on buying the amazing 991 GT3.
