Better in every aspect.
993 turbo is just over priced over rated
Let's face it 996 Turbo is a superior car to the old 993.
I saw your turbo at Harewood on Sunday - it was getting loads of attention which speaks volumes for the 996gt2 look
It gets more attention than the proper GT2 I owned pal, been done very well
It does look quite menacing

No doubt it'll be looking the dogs danglers at lotherton in a couple of weeks?
Might be away but if not will certainly be there mate come and say hello

Will do boss - I had my silver 996 gt3 cs (shep911 before a name change - too many clients on here!) parked near you last year but i spent all day over at the hog roast and missed you

What surprises me is that the longer I own the car the more I enjoy owning the car. Normally it's the other way around, but even now when I come back to it parked somewhere, maybe it's been raining, maybe the sun is lighting it differently, whatever, but I very often have that double-take thing where I've noticed again how beautiful it is.

But driving is the same way, seems every journey something surprising happens (and not always in a good way!) it just seems to be one of those cars -- 8 (or is it 9?) years on it just seems to keep giving.

Nothing with the GT2 seems to be routine however long you own it.

I find the front end of the 993 just as 'challenging' as the 996 with the sloping lights and very dated looking panel lines around the lights.

If this was a choice between a 993 GT2-alike and a 996 GT2 I'd have to think about it, between a 993 Turbo and 996 GT2 it's not a difficult decision for me.

I've driven a GT2 today and a 993 back to back and GT2 is a Epic car and the 993 just felt old.

Will update shortly.

Give us the good news, tell you bought a G2? :-D

Have only driven mine a couple of times since I bought in jan, and it's just been for a big refresh. Won't see it for another couple of weeks and I can't wait.

Epic machine the GT2 from the little I've driven mine but I'm sure a 993 turbo would be awesome also. Good problem you have choosing between those two smile

Both awesome machines, both great to look at in my eyes. I'm lucky enough to have both, and for me the Gt2 takes the crown.

We went in convoy to LeMans a few years back, my son and I in the GT2, his mate and his dad in the 993 turbo.

It was a fun drive, and I think the 993 was having trouble because his throttle seemed to get stuck open for long periods, especially after leaving a toll booth once where we ended up doing like 160mph for about 10 minutes or something daft before we saw him in the distance and reeled him back in. It was a beautiful thing (Midnight Blue with bits of 993GT2 on it)

Performance wise, it wasn't slow but neither was it that close to the GT2, but I know nobody would expect it to be.

So much rarer and more special in every way.

I love the look of the 996 gt2 I think it will become a true classic had mine 7 years and it seems to look better as time goes on ? I loved the 993 gt2 up until the last year or so but now it looks less aggressive and less refined I prefer the look of the 996 gt2 now .

Previously I owned a 993 turbo which I loved because you could drive it hard and it would save you it was soft and caring.
The 996 gt2 is aggressive passionate awesome exciting special,it makes my blood pump and heart race to drive it . The 996 gt2 words can't describe how good it is.

In my opinion

Love the gt2. Love the way it looks, goes, feels, the heritage and its more modern a car than the 993 turbo which is a very early 90s car which is when the 993 was conceived. L plate on a 93 were the first ones on the road as remember driving an L plate 993 C2 when mate worked at Parkwood Porsche.

GT2 is one of the only cars that has really got my rear end twitching with some 5p 50p £1 moments. Just mad quick cars. Mate had one at stage 1 tune with exhaust n map and it was a missile when I drove it. just used to pick up so much speed so quickly.

Doth the hat to those that own them and can really handle them.

I nearly did buy one but went for the gt3 996 as the gt2 was just off the chart bonkers. Not enough talent in this stable to do the car any justice. If u lived in Germany it would be such a riot...200mph autobahn stormer then a few mad laps of the ring to boot.

You will not regret buying one if you liked the test drive the 996 gt2 has more treats in store for you one you have had a couple of hours getting used to it "drive safe" 😉

Everyone has there own opinion but the vast majority of people love the look of the 996 gt2 I belive the proof of this is that the value has gone up 400 % in the last 12 months. In the first 5 or six years the 996 did not look as nice as the other 911s but now it is seen as a iconic shape to most people .
