If you want to do as little investigative work as possible yourself use someone like JZM. Most (if not all) cars are on SOR so there's no incentive to hide anything , car is inspected and all (if any) faults are disclosed, car is then services before collection and anything flagged up but right as part of the overall deal between you, them and the seller. Protects their reputation and ensures you get a good car.

The 997 GT3 is a brilliant car on so many different levels and I would highly recommend buying a good example.For me I wanted a clubsport and nothing else but that's obviously a personal thing.
My car came from 911 virgin and I can't recommend them enough.The car was prepared to an incredible standard with a no expense spared attitude to getting it right and believe me they spent an eye watering amount of money making it absolutely as it should be.
Recent spend is more important than mileage in my opinion.My car has just turned 51,000 miles but has had radiators,diff,Alcons and suspension refresh in recent times and along with no over revs in any of the ranges made it an obvious choice.
You need to buy a car from a dealer that will stick to it like glue if anything goes wrong and for that reasons I would go 911 virgin or JZM.

I'd agree with Kas the 997 GT3 is such a special car, for me it had to be club sport spec as well. Like others have said they are up to 9 years old now so condition can vary & it's not unusual to have a highish number of owners. 911V & RPM or JZM are all safe options, though private is also an option with an independent inspection - i bought mine privately with a fresh OPC service, new tyres & 27 months OPC warranty as part of the deal.

Ref the mention of gear ratios above, do a test drive and check that you can get on with them: I love my 997.1 GT3 but the gearing does let it down as a road car for me, IMO 84mph in 2nd and 115mph in 3rd is just too much. Fine on track obviously where it's glorious. Appreciate it may not be an issue for you though. Or you can get a cup final drive which shortens things to a more road friendly level (with a brucey bonus of more shove), if and when I do a clutch it's something I'm going to investigateDon't ruin another GT3 thread arguing, else we are going to end up discussing gear ratios and the excellent road car that is the Cayman R. Also, if you're looking at buckets and have wide shoulders etc, make sure you try them out first. I bought mine unseen/untried from 911V and I only *just* fit in them Silver lining is that once I'm in I'm not going anywhere no matter what the cornering forces are
