Three generations of GT3 tested [Autocar]
Discussion
I love my 964. I'm so impressed with it. Really lovely little car. But having driven both I know which one I'd rather have in my garage. To me the 996 is the perfect blend of brutality and delicacy.
Bad form to discuss what sold for what by the way GT4. That is a private matter between the buyer and the Seller Old Thng

That was sold for 20k less than the sticker price
Yes I'm agreeing with you read the threaf back . My view if the aircooled 964 RS holy grail is 115 then maybe the 6rs shouldn't be over it. Maybe I'm wrong or maybe it's just in this instance based on the fact that car with 9k miles ?
I'd say a 6rs with say 40k if it's largely about mileage shouldn't be over the 964.
Just my own hunch
I agree with what you are saying, what are your thoughts on the values of 993rs cars then ?

Apologies, the reason I posted was jzm had it up for 170k and have apparently sold it for 150k.... I'm shocked they dropped 20k off it.

It's all gone up a little too quick and a correction is coming . JZM are pretty much the premiere dealer of gt and RS cars and they have stock that's been hanging around even after being reduced. The 996rs sells at 150 and after expenses the seller gets 140k, still great profit on a car he probably paid 65k for. The rate of increase is too quick IMO and up there obviously the audience is smaller although some would argue it's more 'elite'. Of course there are collectors who say they don't care about cash but I'll bet the majority put money into these cars as they could see a fast buck so they do care on value. They just have deeper pockets . All IMO of course
Anyhow how did we get onto values !

Just an observation
And not related to values
I've been driving my 991 gt3 for a while now just with the normal seatbelt
As I've just put the harnesses in I went out for a quick drive just to make sure they were all set up to the correct lengths etc before tidying up the install
First thing I did harnessed up was to try and press the clutch in !
Made me chuckle
I think it's muscle memory taking me back to my 996 gt3 which I always drove in harness !
Ok
You can now return to arguing about the death of the manual and residual values :-)

welcome squire!
JZM have a lovely looking 997.2 in meteor grey up at £99k if you've got cash burning a hole in your pocket! I think they've dropped it £3k in the last couple of weeks.
Otherwise you're right, it's fairly slim pickings on Gen2's out there at the minute. Plenty of 'ambitious' Gen1's as a result....

Can't we just stay off values - it's so dull , the curse of PH !! I agree with what you are saying, what are your thoughts on the values of 993rs cars then ?

996.2 GT3 vs 997.2 GT3 vs 991.1 GT3 - discuss!
I was at the Ring yesterday... 2 996.1 GT3s - my Manthey and a bone stock comfort, 2 996.2 GT3s - a bone stock CS and another heavily modded CS... 997.1 there were at least 5, while 997.2 were two a penny - counted at least 10+, with at least 4 RSs 996.2 GT3 vs 997.2 GT3 vs 991.1 GT3 - discuss!
As to the early v.s latest car debate... While I derived immense satisfaction from getting the heel-and-toe bang on perfect to get from 6th to 3d while braking for Aremberg, I know that if I wanted to go fast consistently, a tug of the paddle IS the preferred method. Also, I was longing for adjustable damping and creature comforts while hammering it down on the E40 in a car running fully rose-jointed suspension. While at present I don't agree with the direction Porsche has taken with the GT3, I can totally see why they did it. And who knows, one day, I may actually end up with one...
