996 GT3 2 going, what Ferrari would you have

So I have finally made the decision to let the GT3 go, it is not being used which is sad, so now thinking that if I am going to have a car sitting in the garage not being used I may as well get the Ferrari thing out of my system.
So have you gone from a Porsche to a Ferrari, if so to what one and what was/is your experience? or if you were going to make the change, what Ferrari would you switch for?

I've done that. Back in the day I had lightweight pork and wanted to scratch the ferrari itch. As a petrolhead it's just one of those things I wanted to do and my 993rs wasn't being used. I first bought a 612 as I thought 500bhp and four seats would be handy. It is great, but not a sports car in the sense a GT3 is. So I added a 430 Scuderia to the fleet. That was great too although I sold it a month or so back.
The Scud was sold because I found it difficult to use as part of my day to day life. A first world problem I know, but it attracted a lot of attention and was difficult to leave in "normal" locations such as a car park. It was also very wide for B roads. The noise and the drama was however epic so I don't regret it for a moment. Oddly I kept the 612 as it can be used as part of my daily life and is fun. I'm now thinking about moving back to Porsche!
In answer to your question around what to buy, perhaps try a 430? A 458 is coming into affordability and is a very capable car but will keep depreciating. Depends upon your priorities.

Thanks for the input, very useful. As it is going to mostly sit in the garage it would be good if it does not depreciate alarmingly as the GT3 is holding its own very well. Hi Jimmy as you know came from a 996 GT3 2 and a64 RS before to a 612 as well ........ guess you get tired of driving a car with a wing around town ( kids will not get in , fit or too embarrassed ) and grow up .....Still have race cars both Porsche and Ferrari ..running cost are fast becoming very similar ...

Sold my 997.1 GT3 to get into an older car, as it was just something I had wanted to do for a while. I felt the GT3 was just too capable for the road and needed to be tracked to get any where near its capabilities.
Kept the older, slower...but more enjoyable car for a year and then sold it as values rose so much in 12 months.
Also, like you....I just had to scratch the Ferrari itch....so started thinking about 360 coupes.
Realised then, there were no really good cars out there for less than approx. £60k ish so focus swerved onto F430's....
A bit of budget creep ensued.....and I applied some man maths....and ended up with a black F430 coupe F1.
I loved it from the start and 5 months in... it's till a joy to get into every time.
It feels like a go cart, even compared to the GT3. If you've ever driven an Elise, it feels a bit like that....which is quite a trick as it's not a small car!
Try one.....you won't regret it

Im a complete Porsche fanatic, but decided i had to scratch my Ferrari itch also.
After looking at everything out there, i went 550 . Its awesome. Went to europe early in august
and did over 3000 kilometeres in it. What a fab thing it is, even my wife thought it was great.

Higher budget scud LHD if you can find one. 599 if you don't mind size and F1 gearbox.
Higher still but within budget for LHD is 458. Which before the Speciale arrived was still the benchmark.. So can't be that bad :-)
Super wild card.. F12 LHD? But those are 150k+ I think still.

I went from a 3.8RS to a 458. At c.£100 I'd suggest a mint 430 (assuming you are still after a compact RWD car) with some change to spare. The F car is definitely more of an event and a downside being it attracts a fair bit of attention. It won't be as good for track days due to being noiser.
I've had 2 F cars and 2 GT3s for my last 4 cars - very different cars but IMHO the two main sides of a Pertolhead's coin. Enjoy it and please do let us know what you end up with.

Thanks for all the replies so far, it looks like I have a lot of searching to do! I don't want to go above 100k so several models are ruled out already, I have to admit that out of the models suggested I think the 430 is looking favorable at the moment.

If you want red, this looks mint, top end price though.
I bought from JCT in March with 11k miles, about £10k lower then. Prices have firmed or risen slightly since.
I went black as I prefer the more subtle looks, but red does look awesome and for some it is the only colour to have
