Guys the rims on my car could really do with a refurb at this stage. They've been kerbed a few times and also the lacquer has lost its lustre and is starting to peel in places.

So I'm probably going to get them refurbed but the question is whether to get them refurbed back to original 2 tone diamond cut finish or go for something different.

Anyone here done anything interesting with their wheels? Silver or black or anthracite powdercoating? Anything else?

Car is Cobalt blue btw.

Check out the Exel Wheels website. Chris has a huge gallery which might show something different.

I think I'd stick with a silver finish on a Cobalt Blue 997.1 turbo with standard alloys.

The other option would be a subtle colour change like Weiss Gold., which would work against Cobalt Blue.

Treat yourself to some BBS CH-Rs and lowering springs - they will transform the look of the car!

Personally think the chrome 997.1 wheels are horrific and took them off within a couple of weeks. If you really must keep them, i'd go for a more conventional bright silver finish. You may face come resale you'd have to go back to OEM look though, which is why i'd spend a bit more and get a decent set of wheels to begin with...
