I love the look of those carbon decklids when opened, the interior of them is stunning. Not sure I want a ducktail on my car, so would be happy if RPM produced a regular looking carbon lid I could fit my existing rising spoiler into. I'd have the exterior painted and the fun of exposed carbon on the rare occasions I open it up.

OP I had a nose round your car at Goodwood last Saturday and I have to say the pics do not do the paint/wheel/graphics combo justice. It looked absolutely perfect to my eyes in the metal. The wheels in particular are actually quite subtle but are perfectly matched to the paintwork. It's an unusual choice but really stood out in the morning sun. Nice work!

Thanks for the positive comments. I'm surprised anyone noticed it as I made the mistake of parking next to three 991 GT3 RS's!

It was a really good turn out and plenty of money raised for charity, did you get out on track?

I did the morning session - was in dark blue 981 Cayman S which blended into the background in comparison to some of the exotic Porsches in the paddock!! Great weather for early October and good variety of Pork on track too. Impressive that some guys came all the way from Scotland, Holland and even Luxembourg.

I even ended up tailing the white 991 GT3 RS at cruising speed all the way back from Goodwood as far as Luton Airport, which was just the icing on the cake.

I think it looks great...bar the rear Porsche decal, but that's just my taste. Lowering the GTS makes such a difference to the look of the car, the width between rear arch and wheel, plus the not very aggressive offset is the only thing I'm not keen about on mine.

Not a great fan of the 997's backside (the lights are too fussy) but the ducktail looks really really good. Lovely car Op

I like it / the white cars always look like unadorned race cars to me

Both lovely looking cars.

I love the ducktail with the model script, but I'd lose the Porsche decals on the ducktail and sides.

A little update.

Well still no decent photos I'm afraid, I've barely seen the car in daylight! I was giving it a bit of a clean at the weekend and got some interior photos and a couple of the ducktail in a bit more detail.

The interior has body coloured trim and seat backs with alcantara seats, lower dash ,door trim and headlining and extended leather on all the other bits.

I'm really pleased with the ducktail, it was one of the few with the holes for dual intakes which the GTS needs and it needed a bit of tweaking by Parr, overall it's very nicely finished.

I think you've done a great job. I think the 'pure' look would have worked really well in a manual car, if i was to be picky...

I can see that. I was open to either a manual or PDK and the rest of the spec/history/price point of this car matched what I wanted so I went for it.

I really like the white interior bits, unfortunately the PORSCHE sticker hasn't blown off the back and got lost wink

Modifying a Classic is , unfortunately, a sure way to wipe out a third of its residual value !!!
No dealer will ever contemplate a trade in unless its really cheap

PS A SOR Merchant might take it in ..............

Are you referring to the picture I posted above or the OP's car?

Not sure to which he is referring, the 3.0 RS looks standard apart from maybe the spotlights and I bought the 997 to use and enjoy, don't care about residuals.

I can see the attractions of the 997 GTS but I can't ever see it being an investment car, too many and not as special as the modern RS's.

Sorry I was referring to the GTS-they are falling fast residually, an 80,000 miler was offered privately for low 40's recently
All the Cars on offer are artificially priced by OPC' with guarantees to maximise the price
Think about 30-35 K in a couple of years, without OPC protection as long as they are bog standard...
