If I could buy a 991 on without rear wheel steer with passive suspension with passive roll bars a mechanical diff with 500 Bhp, I'd buy one. That would be a really lovely fun car.

So would I but I suspect that Porsche will make the 911 R solely for the mega rich! But if they'll let me have one for anything up to let's say £150k, then I up for it!

Why can't they just offer a manual gearbox option on the GT3(RS)?

Seems like a load of unnecessary faff.
Unless they're trying to create yet another super exclusive niche model which they can sell for a ton of money wink
Narrower body? clean sheet metal? subtle presentation? No big wing, six-speed manual, GT3 or RS engine? I'm in. Phoning OPC in the morning. I'd still rather a 72S though…

An old mate of mine owned an original 911R. Badgered by Porsche many years ago to sell it back. I hope he still owns it.

I've done that too but I'm not holding my breath - apparently it's already been shown to 918 customers, so it's going to be mega bucks, I reckon.

Whilst in an ideal world I would add hydraulic steering and maybe a single mass flywheel, you just specced my perfect car biggrin

Or just get a 997 GT3? If this car materialises, it's going to be well north of the £75k a GT3 will cost you.

Nope full fat 500bhp GT3 RS engine with a manual gearbox in a very civilised and non showy shell from the rumours. Sounds amazing.
I don't believe this to be honest. Won't the body require the turbo-style side intakes in order to accommodate the GT3RS engine?

Personally I can see it being a run-out 991.1 GTS. Powerpack engine, Carrera body, GTS options, manual 'box and a few unique little touches and 'R' lettering, at a higher price.

It 100% hasn't been shown to 918 owners, but it does look like it's being made. Possibly 911 of them.

Supposedly will only be available in white, or in silver, so the one above has some credibility!

Agreed. Single Nass flywheel and hydraulic steering also a must. And please, no stitching options..

Not if you're cruising around the city to buy some ice cream, which is what owners seem to buy them for. hehe

I think you will need to the rear wheel steer, Porsche put it on there cos the 991 is looong.

Yes - very tasty! If only 911 worldwide though, there'll be no chance of getting one here.

I haven't but I doubt its as agile as the GT3. A 991 has a longer wheelbase than the 997 by 100mm so the RWS helps get some of that cars lower speed "agility " back i would hope. I suppose it depends what you do or dont like about RWS.
