It always makes me smile when I see the disagreements about which 911 is the best. I can't be alone in liking all of them.

I like them all, but not to the same degree. Some are way better than others.

The 996 is definitely at the point of transition to 'classic driver' status in my view. What amused me was how close the performance was to the 'fastest car on sale' when I was a chid (Ferrari 365 GTB/4).

If you can find a good one, I think they're a shrewd buy right now in the current market. Now I would say that :-) as mine's now for sale (clearing space for something completely different!).
