I'm surprised this doesn't get look in at this spend level.

Sure the Turbo S is £145k so £15k less but there will hardly be any material difference on the monthly finance payments if you go through a firm like Oracle. Its where my money would go if I was to buy new and on finance etc. Looks outstanding value to me if you can say that at these price levels.
Yup, manual 2wd lambo....lush smile I want to tick the lambo box some day and this would make an exceedingly good candidate. First time I've ever had a serious go at doing the numbers in my head for a new Supercar and it would be over double the most I've ever spent in any car hehe

Absolute cobblers. As an ex-owner of a 535D I can safely advise that there is nothing about a x35d that is any way comparable to a sports car. I can't believe how so many posters on a motoring forum can have so little appreciation of what makes a driver car. Performance is a factor, but so is handling, power delivery, noise etc. The incredibly boring and tedious nature of an x35D is the complete antithesis of what driving for pleasure is all about.
I agree with you - an x35d is the motoring equivalent of a Miele kitchen appliance - but you are missing my point. Handling, noise, power delivery, as you say, are key. It's the attempts to objectify the relevance of 600bhp vs 700bhp and the like which are laughable and off the mark for a UK road car.

Agreed & often the higher outputs are purely a pi$$ing contest as are unusable 95% of the time, however as per my original requirements, my car will be spending time on track so i hope to exploit the relevant extent of performance in whatever car i choose.

You'll be very surprised at how useable the 991 turbo's power is even on road - very addictive. No TC lights etc just hunkers down for a split second and F's off into the distance like a Cheetah after a Gazelle lol

That's my hope & expectation. McL upped their game & have invited me to Millbrook in April to spend some quality time with the 570S on track. The Turbo S i should have for a couple of days early April & the R8 V10+ for a day around the same time, so hopefully i can complete my decision process within the next few weeks & then sit back until it's time to order/negotiate.

Which Tesla is that as i'm sure the P90's have the rear door handles in the usual place, those doors look more like the suicide doors in the current Rollers etc. unless i'm being thicker than usual.

Not sure those are type approved for towing. You may find you leave a chassis rail behind with the trailer.

Because they don't have to, as it's hugely expensive.

Unless you have some inside information that you can share with us (rather than false claims about crash tests)??

hi sidicks. i dont want to add rumour upon rumour, the closed door american tests which leaked suggested they don't do them because the 911 fails the rear passenger protection tests every time.

Making progress, got the Turbo S for the weekend of the 9th/10th April.

R8 V10+ for the day on the 7th April & a day in the McL 570S round Hillbrook on the 13th April so as close to back to back as i could get.

One thing that's surprised me is the lead time for the Turbo S has shot up in the last couple of weeks & is now approaching 12 months from the 4 months i was quoted in early February so this can only have at least a slightly positive impact on their potential future residuals.

My dealer called me today and said he could get me one for Sept build/Oct 2016 delivery.

I'm sure 2016 build slots are available across the network, but less than 3 weeks ago i was told if i ordered a car then i could get it within 16 weeks so this indicates lead times as a minimum have doubled & with some dealers close to trebled in a very short time. I don't need a car until March 17 so no panic yet, however i wasn't expecting to need to order until at least late Summer, however that plan may now need rethinking.

Can't say i'm keen on the idea of a dealer holding onto a £10k deposit for 12mths as I could put that money to much better use.

How is it hugely expensive again?

Loads of rumors and anecdotal evidence to go round to be at least a bit worried.

Don't forget they don't have to test the top of the line, the regular Carrera will suffice.

McL 570S has unfortunately been relegated to 3rd place as i really don't think it would serve as a daily driver but is probably the most Supercar like in both looks & feel. Thus it would make an epic weekend hooligan & be awesome on track but the Turbo S out classes it in build quality & outright pace so currently it's between the R8 V10+ & the Turbo S with the Porsche being ahead. Decision being made this week as if i opt for the Porsche i'll need to order this month to be assured of delivery next march when my M5 goes back.

Interesting. It only just occurred to me that the Audi R8 (V10) might be suitable for the shortlist. I'd imagine that it looks more like a supercar, but is probably more refined as a daily driver than a Turbo.
