I just can't get on with a 'supercar' that shares that many styling cues with an A1....I don't look twice at R8's.

I hope they stick with it though, at some point all that work at LeMans has to pay off. I just think they should be using the R8 to signify a new aesthetic route/style...distance it from the work horses...

Yes, why don't they make the R8 to look like a Huracan, they'd be on to a winner there.... Oh hang on.....

Interesting. It only just occurred to me that the Audi R8 (V10) might be suitable for the shortlist. I'd imagine that it looks more like a supercar, but is probably more refined as a daily driver than a Turbo.
The R8 V10+ certainly looks a little more Supercar than the Turbo S, but the 570S wins that prize hands down. More refined goes to the Turbo S ahead of the R8 as although the R8's wearing an Audi badge & thus probably the cheaper to service & more obvious controls etc. the noise that V10 makes is epic & although you can turn it down a little, you do feel when driving it that you have to be pushing on to enjoy it so it wasn't as good as the Porsche at the more mundane tasks. The Virtual Cockpit is lovely in the R8 & overall the cabin is night & day better than the Mark 1, although that's really comparing new vs. old so to be expected. Both cars felt very planted at speed but the 911 a tad more comfortable when in the cruise & generally the cabin in the Porsche was a tad more luxurious.

Also at the R8 and H price points they really need a proper carbon tub IMO. I think the 911 needs to go carbon tub at some point too. £150k v the lightweight tech Macca has in 570 doesn't bode well for the 911 turbo if 570s sorts out fit and finish OP refers too. One day Macca will come out with a stunning design at this price point and get their act together with reasonable service 7 year packages ala Ferrari and become a compelling offering. Styling still off for me on Macca and R8 - just don't find them desirable.

Totally agree. TBH if my annual mileage wasn't up at 15k & was under 10K & my longest regular commutes were closer to a 200 mile round trip rather than 500 miles i think i'd be ordering the 570S as it's not that far from being perfect, however they've not quite cracked the quality issue & it would struggle to be an all rounder with the somewhat bare cabin & lack of toys. Lastly if they want to go more mainstream they need a few more dealers & to do away with this £600 servicing needed every time you track the car as that's not cricket & ignoring the cost aspect could be a genuine inconvenience for a lot of potential owners as would require taking time off work just to tick that McL box.

Cheers, will read that now. Spotted the new Autocar review last night so they're coming in thick & fast now for the Gen II.

That is indeed quick & a full 20secs quicker round Spa than the best i've managed in my F10 M5.

I just bought a V10 Plus as an alternative to a 991.2 Turbo S as a daily driver. Loving it so far. Great noise, feels more special

Looks stunning. Aura Blu? That would be my colour choice if I go for the Turbo S.

Design definitely takes a bit of getting used to but its a grower on me and having been in one recently its a proper all weather tool!
Id be waiting for a spider variant in a loud colour, Gives it that bit of wow factor it needs, though not the case when you have a collection like andrews
