Not very pretty is it?
Sorry, but a bike has to be pleasing to the eye for me, and that just doesn't float my boat.
I did own an R30, which was great fun, but since they made those, they haven't come up with anything that made me want one.
Here's my old one.

Yeah it doesn't look brilliant and 40bhp is fine for green laning but would soon become restrictive on the open road.
It's 8 grand too, EIGHT! You can get a brand new KTM 690 Enduro for less than that.

I too had an R30 (the Suzuki engined one) , I got it as my first bike after passing my test, brought for 800 quid, abused for 2 years and then sold it for exactly the same as I paid for it!

Another R30 owner here.New bikes look good but are priced fairly high.Would like to see a new supermoto model and not just a gp450 with different wheels.

Bought, bought it's bought. You bought it for 800 quid. If you "brought it for 800 quid", then you'd have been bringing it from one place to another and charging a fee of £800 for the transport.

This is one of my bugbears, so apologies for the Grammar Police bit.

On the contrary I think it looks good. No it's not pretty but no 'adventure' bike it.

Also the R30 was a hideous thing in my opinion. If they had given it spoked wheels and a different headlight it would have looked good (but also looked like every other supermoto of the time)

Yay - another cow catching motorcycle. Better looking than an R30 in my eyes with it's ant head type fairing and clunky cast wheels.

I've been pondering these for a while. They're down to £7.5k for the base model and the KTM 690s seem to be £7.9k rrp (the Duke is £7.7k and £9.0k). The KTM seems to be slightly heavier, lacks a fairing and has a smaller tank (12L vs 20L). The CCM has fewer gears (5 vs 6), is less powerful and while it can be chipped to 50 bhp (still significantly lower than the KTM), that voids the warranty.

Spec sheets aren't everything, but the price doesn't look too high for a small run machine and until AJP release the PR7 it doesn't seem to have any direct competitors.

I agree some of the photos on the site don't look great but I think if you saw some of the one one display at Motorcycle live your opinion might change.

I really liked the look of the ones they had on display at motorcycle live and I hope they manage to sell them!

Do you mean it should say "Annual Pedant's Conference"? Wouldn't that mean that there's one Pedant (possibly an Annual Pedant) to whom the conference belongs?

Yes, I think a round headlight. and spoked wheels would have suited the R30 better. I considered it for a while, but decided I needed something with a bit more grunt, and sold it. But Boy, did it handle!
One of the things I hate on new bikes, is they have headlights that make them look like transformers.
I haven't seen the new CCM in the flesh, so I suppose it may look better, but it certainly isn't photogenic IMO.
