Curious to see if this shifts quickly.
Quicker if they photographed them normally.

History is all on these investment cars. Plenty of RS owners out there are sitting on cars with a questionable provenance and believe the hype that these will be worth the same as the top-end cars out there.

I had my reasons for not buying that car, even at £260k.
Must have been a 'Triggers Broom'.

There's a 2010 plate 997 GT3 on sytner trade auction with a starting price of 100k, no bids as yet after a few days, its a prepped retail car for sale due to over stocking (means they can't sell it I assume), got 17k miles on it, looks lovely, if anyone is interested I can get the winning price?

It is.......... Art , on the way down and Dealers are not selling ......as I said earlier if you cannot sell the car at 130 just put the price up to 200 and it becomes more desirable ..... more dealers now all with Book values rising ...

Anybody looking for a car should look in the German OPC network. If I would get another GT3 it would be LHD for sure. Quite a few cars in the German network.

25 GT3
22 GT3RS
But they are almost as much as a right hand drive!

Andy - very interesting. Any detail on spec would be interesting to get a flavour for price vs spec. Retail prices are 105-125 and I imagine trade bids must be 95 ish so a lack of trade bids at 105 is not so surprising

I've been looking for a while and am thinking there might be such a buy/sell spread that a private deal for a well loved car could make sense.

This is interesting. I'm currently watching prices of 997 gen 2 gt3's and I reckon they've come down a little and confidence isn't so high. I might be totally wrong but JZM have 2 CS cars at under 110k and they'll be taking 5% so a private non trade buy would be at 95-100k. CS cars were at about 90k a year or so ago and have been climbing but they seem to have topped for the moment. Yes I know there was one at 145k recently with massive carbon pack and low mikes but that was an opc car. There is also a red 5k mileage car at 125k but priced higher due to it being basically unused.

Club sport is important for future values and I do think that they'll be a great car to invest in. I really want one as they're phenomenal and generally preferred over the 7.1 for a slightly better interior and of course the 3.8.

As its the last of the manual and it's a metzger, it's a great car to put your money into.

The good old days;)

Fantastic times. I can remember circuits absolutely full of 6GT3's & RS's, 964RS's/CS's and 993RS/CS. All drivers proper driving enthusiasts and damn decent fun.. Some chaps turning up with slicks crammed on drivers seats and in the back like you did.

It's amazing and slightly sad that the demographic of Porsche driver owner has changed so much over recent years. Most still nice chaps but The driving passion and comaradery has perhaps been diluted by a garage queen / value obsession. Neither right nor wrong just different.

Those were indeed good days, my 1st ever ride in a Porsche was Ted (as in Petrolted) taking me out on an RMA day at Silverstone in his 996RS blasting round with other RS cars and Superleggras.

That was it, I was hooked and have had a 911 of some sort ever sincedriving

Long time lurker in the GT threads. Does anyone know much about the guards red 997.2 GT3 JZM currently have in stock? http://www.jzmporsche.com/porsche-for-sale/911/997...

I've bought from JZM before and know the quality of their stock is generally very good, but this would be my first GT3 so any advice much appreciated, key things to look out for (other than the over revs data).

It looks nice Alex, no sports chrono, not sure how much that matters and I don't think it has a leather dash / door tops but not the be all and end all.
Most GT3's will have been tracked and at 25k miles it'll be difficult to know how many of those have indeed been on a track.

They're very sturdy cars though so as long as it drives well and as you say JZM tend to have quality stuff you should be fine.
Firstly I would call JZM and ask if they know its previous owner and what they know about the car. The white one is I think still for sale too at similar money and has been for sale for some time at 109k. Might be worth hanging
on to see what happens as I have a sneaky suspicion that cars aren't moving as fast at the moment and prices may drop a little. Worth considering?

Historically, GT3 cars have not sold well in the winter months but start shifting when the weather gets better.

Yes fair enough but I do get the impression things are slowing down a little. Just a feeling I get from keeping a keen eye on things as you do... I might be totally wrong and we'll be back to the high flying days of 2014 but I'm not convinced.
I do also think that the 997.2 GT3 is a great car and a great place to put your money! I'm looking for one as well possibly.

Thanks Andy. I recognise the car from the description and see that it is no longer listed in the classifieds. I think they'd been advertising it for a couple of months

I think the right cars are speeding up and sell within hours.

CS cars imo are not the big sellers, yes maybe on forums people seem to uptalk CS pack, but out in the real world of car buyers, most don't want CS pack cars, you can see that with how most 991 GT3 and GT4 were speced, my OPC only selling one CS car and 6 normal GT4's.

the 997.2 GT3 non CS pack with leather sold in a few hours at full list at JZM the GT4 CS and the 997.2 CS have been for sale 3 or 4 weeks.

the OPC car you said was £145k which was £128k ;-) also NON CS pack and sold within a day, was a mega looking very high spec low miles car though.

what is slowing down and dropping is 996 GT3 and 997.1 GT3 prices.

I think 997.2 GT3 will go up in price still and the RS's well rare as hens teeth JZM selling both there's in hours at list !

I don't understand why the 997.2 is going up in value and the 997.1 is stagnant (or going down) .....Going by current trends there will come a point where the gen 2 car is over £120k and the gen 1 is around £75k

TBF, makes no more or less 'sense' than the fact a 996 GT3 is very similarly priced to 997.1 GT3. It's all in the experience and the reputation I guess.

Imo the market never makes sensesmile Take the 1980s super sport model imo not a particularly special car yet have shot up in value over night ! Now the clubsport is a different matter but a little while ago one could be had for £25-30k but saw one advertised recently for £170k so after many years of being out there it suddenly becomes worth nearly 5 times as much?

Many thanks for the advice Fokker - as you say, may be best to keep a watch to see if the prices soften a little and then arrange a drive.
