I'm coming up to the yearly service of my Gallardo SL Mk1 and now looking at warranties as I'll need to renew. I've currently got an RAC warranty that was supplied by the dealer last year but not used it to date (thankfully) to see how well it performs.

There's many out there and some aren't worth the paper they are written on so wanted to see other others use? I want to make sure it's relatively comprehensive and I'm prepared to pay more to get the cover if it's worth it.

Any recommendations out there and for those who've got them, anyone used them without hassle?

Appreciate any thoughts!

Cheers

I know it's not the most exciting subject on the planet but surprised nobody has any insights into this area, especially with older Lamborghini models. I'm assuming that owners don't do warranties (or put money aside). If anybody does have any experiences of warranties of a comprehensive level for these kind of cars then I'd really appreciate any feedback. Or maybe this subject is too boring!! :-)

I am sure the dealers use the rac gold product........

never had a warranty on my my08, and new owner has taken her to 30k+ and still on first clutch....

I guess warranty wise wont be too bad, nor one from a main insurer, aren't zurich involved with bmw or such like?

Looking at the RAC warranty writeups, not much positive about it when it comes to claiming on it. I'm going to talk to Warranty Wise but still looking around for others.

Personally, I just don't get warrantee's on older cars. They claim to cover everything, but in reality cover nothing! The worst of the bunch is that firm that is fronted by Quentin Wilson.

I am more of a 'tuck some money away' person. Had a warranty on a used Fiat 128 Coupe many years ago and when the gearbox started making funny noises they ran a mile.
The great thing was that the noise came from the 'special' oil they supplied to go in the engine/gearbox which wasn't sufficiently viscous.
A change of oil sorted it - the gearbox used the engine oil.
Ho hum.

Out of interest, where do you go for service Clewsey - and any others in the SE of this fair land? I live roughly equidistant between Guildford and Reading.
