Manuals seem to be getting a lot of love on the Ferrari section, is there the same love for manual Lamborghinis?

If so, I suspect this will sell quickly!

I think manuals are particularly sought after on early cars in particular as the early 'auto' gearbox had a very short lifespan due to the gearing being optimised for track as opposed to normal use, meaning the clutch was 'riding' a large portion of the time.
Is this about right?

I've just been and driven that Balboni at John Hollands in Sheffield for a feature with Supercar Driver. My god is it a great car! 2wd suits the gallardo so well and the manual gearbox is amazing. Even the clutch is light.

If I was to buy a Gallardo or any modern Lambo, it would be that car! Its that much nicer to drive!

The 'standard' LP550-2 is a Balboni without the stripe and the badge thumbuphehe

I know... but the stripe adds at least 50bhp since it has gold paint in it. So easily worth double that of a boggo LP550-2!

Seriously though, overall a 2wd Gallardo felt so much nicer than 4wd. Wouldn't matter either way if it was the Balboni edition or not. Would have to be a manual too.

Its suggested (and prices do back this up) that the early 'Flappy Paddle' cars will be viewed negatively with the passage of time as the technology gets better and better making early FP boxes seem slow and agricultural. My experience is limited to my Challenge Stradale (which is of course FP) which I really enjoy. I recently drove a brand new Porsche Turbo S. The speed of gear change between the two cars was night and day - the Porsche box was incredibly fast. But it didn't change my view of the CS - slightly slower gear change but so what? Perhaps its more to do with the fact that 'enthusiasts' who buy into these cars 10 years down the line generally prefer manual. Perhaps that will change in the future?

Hope, people want manuals again because of the greater involvement driving them and as they are rarer...
