New 32 Gb USB stick wont work
Discussion
I've had this problem before but my methods don't work this time. Hope you can help me out.
- Bought a nice Alfa Romeo gadget 32 GB USB stick for my in-car music
- Clicked it in my 2008 iMac and dumped it with fav tunes from my iTunes lib
- Copy did not run so I abort and used Mac Disc Utillity to partition, initialize etc
- After 2 days - this takes time - it recognizes the USB stick in the Mac Disc Utillity but won't show on my desktop > where is it?
- Laptop pc (10) ditto, no show no go...
- What to do?
There must be a way to wake up the stick? Hope you can help. Thx.

Taking 2 days to partition and initialise sounds very wrong to me.
No idea on macs, but in windows if it's at all working it should show in disk management.
Could it be a duff fake stick? Where did you buy it from?
Agreed. 32Gb should be done much more quickly than that, depending on the USB interface. No idea on macs, but in windows if it's at all working it should show in disk management.

I suspect fake or faulty.
In windows, if you type 'disk management' in after hitting start, and open that up, it'll show you all storage devices attached. The USB stick may show up in here even though it doesn't show in 'This PC'/My Computer.
If it is there, then right click on whatever the partition is and delete it, should all show as unallocated space, then create a new partition using FAT32.
Make sure you delete the partition on the USB drive and not any other drive.
