A lovely colour - I'm still struggling, love GT Silver but sometimes it looks bland, so Guards Red is second choice at the moment.
On yours - no RWS or PDCC? I was thinking of getting the RWS, but a test drive in one with PDCC and RWS has got me wondering as it handled so good. Other options you've chosen are also on my list except the 18 way seats.

I don't think the RWS and PDCC are for me, you have to draw a line somewhere...

The seats were simply the most comfortable for me, big guy, 6' 3" 17 st

Hi B1ggest , has your dealer given you an idea how long a PTS colour will extend your delivery time?

Thx

I understand your decision - trouble is I'm afraid of getting it wrong for the sake of £2-3k. The chassis options are the most difficult for me as opinions vary so much, all I know is the RWS really works well at low speed, no idea how much it adds at high speed, the PDCC is more difficult - I suspect for road use where we take corners at a 'safe' speed it's difficult to tell the difference, but the car I drove was so stable I am reluctant to risk not having it.
The seats I can also understand as I'm broad but I do find the sports plus seats OK.

Just had a leap of faith yesterday and signed an order form and paid a deposit on a May 2017 build slot for a 991.2GTS coupe manual as a prelude for my upcoming 991.2GT3 which i'm expecting early next year.I'm trying my hardest to tap into my man-maths psyche to justify keeping my beloved guards GT4 as a stablemate but i suspect my bank manager and accountant will convince me the error of my ways!.
Anyway the reason i succumbed to my temptations is the universal acclaim the 991.2GTS has been unundated with by all motoring hacks globally especially the lightest, simplest and cheapest version i.e manual,2wd coupe which i'm getting and the spec is as follows:

GT silver
Alcantara Carmine red GTS interior package
F/R parking s
Heated bucked seats
Alcantara sunvisors
Bose
Auto wipers/mirrors
Painted sidesills?
Alum fuel filler cap
Seat heating

Total £105,208.

Undecided on Pccb,s and Rws,comments welcome.
Nice spec. I've gone Agate grey with GTS interior, PDK and RWS. I've owned/driven 991 GT3, 991 RS, and 991.2 C2S with RWS, and it makes a noticeable difference to the way the car reacts, so it was a must have extra for me.

Just a hunch, but.................... maybe the 'Top 555' salesman & Mattf93 are the same person. Hence he knows what 'his friend' paid. But does his 'friend' know he is advertising all over here what he just spent on his new motor?
Afraid not the same person!!! biggrin as much as Im sure Cheib would like to have a field day if I was!

I know the new owner outside of PH - it'll be heading to near London and he's already planning some european adventures in it driving , I haven't said anywhere exactly what he paid for his new motor purposefully and he does nose on PH every now and again, although I may have given an indication to point out that the market is still strong for the 991.1 GTS not to point out precisely what he paid.
And if you look at the value of a 991.1 GTS against an 911 R it makes financial sense biggrindriving
See quite a few high spec, low mileage cars are hovering around latter 90s and into 100ks - a good sign for current owners to keep?
If people moan about low end torque in the 991 GTS DMS and Revo do retuning of ECUs to make torque introduced around 1500-1800rpm lower in the rev range.

On another note - See there's plenty of people thinking of the New GTS... just a thought if you hadn't driven a NA 911 before or 911 full stop, I bet you'd think its a cracking thing to drive.
I would love to know what the take up of Manual and PDK and 4GTS and 2GTS is combined?
Any guys on here have idea of split on the 991.1? driving

Although my .1 GTS is black I do think GT silver is the best colour. Such a timeless colour.

If I could do PTS then it would have the be GreyBlack from the 997.2 GT3 RS or sport classic grey.

Im sure on 911s that Sport Classic is 'ring fenced' due to the very fact it was used on the 997 SC, to my understanding you can there fore not order it even through PTS on any 911.

There is a site called: howmanyleft. That will tell you the split. From memory it's around 80:20 gts2:gts4

Jumping in here as gts.1 owner, my addiction is the throttle response across the band and frenetic and shifting induction noise anywhere above 3krpm

I haven't driven a .2 however I just imagine I wouldnt trade that extra torque for the loss of the above.

However it's always nice to hear of rising prices!
Out if interest:
1. Is any gts.1 owner getting approached by their Porsche dealer for a buy back due to demand?
2. Do you think prices will hold for some time, or will they drop just after this initial period of immediate comparison with GTS.2 being a turbo?

Ah ok. I have seen a 991 RS and a 911R in sport classic grey. Must be only for the Halo models.

1. yes have been asked a couple of times and also confirmed they would be happy to buy without me having to buy another car. Problem is nothing else interests me in that price bracket so selling not an option as I am really enjoying the .1GTS.

2. No idea buddy. so many factors to include. Just drive and enjoy one of the finest modern 911 packages around.

Kinda thinking should have gone for rws reading what those who have had it here are saying, maybe better than front axle lift. For a mid apr build think spec can still be changed?

I have a delivery date mid May, they said that as VooDoo is a colour previously tested it would have little effect, only if its a colour not tested would it protract..

Well, after lots of years of reading PH forums, I have finally decided to start contributing.

For the last 4 years I have been driving a 991.1 C4S as my daily car, I bought the car new and have enjoyed every minute of ownership... for the last year I have been agonizing over what to do with the car, I have read loads of reviews on the 991.2, and all the forums, but opinion is so divided I have kept the C4S for 4 years rather than the 3 years I originally indented, purely as I couldn't figure out whether changing to 991.2 was a step backwards.

Last Monday I decided that 4 years was enough, and I finally went to visit my OPC to test drive a 991.2 C4S, after everything I have read I must admit that I went with a preconceived opinion that I was going to be totally underwhelmed by the 991.2.

Whilst I concede that the 991.2 is a different drive to the 991.1, I was pleasantly surprised by the 991.2, whilst the noise cannot compare to the C4S c/w PSE, it has its own soundtrack which still sounds rewarding. The performance of the 991.2 cannot be faulted, and when I got back in my C4S to drive home the loss in performance was clearly evident.

Subsequently, I ordered a 991.2 GTS there and then, March build for late April delivery, and felt that some of my faith in the 911 product had been restored. I don't mean to offend anyone, but the negativity towards the new 991.2 engine seems a little like "the emperors new clothes", where all the purists jump on a band wagon and decide it's a step backwards, and then that is cast in stone. I guess the turbo charged 991.2 is evolution, in a world that is driven by efficiency and emissions.

To conclude, my C4S has been a great car, but I didn't want to drive it for the rest of eternity... so I embrace the 991.2 GTS

Sorry if my ramblings have bored anyone

Chris I think this sums it up for me too, I've come from M cars, and saw exactly the same conversation when the turbo was added to the F8x. There are now very few who would have an E92 over a F8X finances permitting.

You will have your GTS before me, so look forward to some further contributions with early feedback.

Not boring at all, in fact it's a very honest account of your opinion.

I also have a 991.2 GTS on order, it will be a great car. I test drove a 991.2 C4S with an open mind and I loved it! The engine sounds different but is still very good, throttle response is good (don't know why some are complaining about lag). I think the engine mapping overcomes the potential lag by dropping a couple of gears as soon as the throttle is pressed a bit, it gets the turbos spinning ready for instant response - this is with PDK, I dare say a manual car would need a learning period to change gears at optimal times to achieve the same. Performance and handling aren't in question, it's a faster car than the 991.1 in any gear at any speed.

I think sometimes people forget that Porsche are very experienced with turbocharged petrol engines - they have used that experience to make the 991.2 an excellent engine.

Those that have the 991.1 GTS models quite rightly love their cars and will sit it out for now and see what the next generation 911 brings. Prices are holding up well - that may or may not change as the new GTS gets established and more people experience it - don't forget none of us has driven one yet, it has more power and torque plus a redesigned exhaust - press drivers think it's great and I'm confident it will be in high demand just as much as the gen 1 model.

Ok , with some serious man maths and a small equity release loan in a property would see me being able to get into one of these. I've specced up what I fancy on the Porsche code below, anybody fancy having a look through and checking if I've missed some things that I really should be ticking on the option list?

http://www.porsche-code.com/PHN88K99

I'd be appreciative of any feedback.

This would be a lifetime dream purchase and I'd want to get it right.
