I've noticed a couple of posts on here referencing the price increase - I presume those mentioning it have not yet placed their orders?

I placed my order about 4 weeks ago and the dealer came back to me last week to confirm build date but 'informed' me I would have to pay the price increase.

I've told him that as far as I am concerned I have a firm contract for delivery of the car I specified at the price specified. There are a couple of opt outs for me due to consumer protection laws but Porsche are contractually bound. The dealer is stalling. Anyone have any views or experience of similar?
The other posts above are correct - your contract is not binding on either side until lockdown before which you pay extra deposit (approx 10% of purchase price), but Porsche can still change the price and specification - if they do you can have your deposit refunded. This price increase recently announced will apply to all cars leaving the factory after the end of May (as others have stated). If you rebuild your car on the configurator you will see how you are affected.

Are you sure? Without wanting to sound pedantic, can you point out to me the clause in the terms and conditions on the new vehicle order form that legally allows them to change the price? I can't see one and the dealer has been unable to point one out to me.

The form I have signed has a clause that says "No order placed by you to purchase the vehicle will be binding on us until we have countersigned the new vehicle order form as already signed by you". I have both mine and their signature on the form.

Also, there is no further deposit to pay according to my agreement. Just the £5k I paid when I signed the form and the balance prior to collection.

It might be worth noting my agreement is with one of the Porsche Retail Group dealers so possibly my order form differs from non-PRG dealers?

Sorry for thread hijack.

My OPC verbally informed me that May is when any annual price increase is usually announced and that I needed to be aware of that. In my paperwork the signed agreement itself doesn't mention price changes - but in the printed quote (referred to in the agreement) on the page next to the listed configuration there is a couple of paragraphs of small print which include the words'Porsche reserves the right to alter specification, delivery package, lead times, pricing and other product information without prior notice'.

That's interesting, none of the paperwork I have mentions price alteration so our contracts must differ. It does say spec can change as long as they aim to "achieve component parity or improvement (a minor substitution)".

The first I was told of price increases was when I phoned to chase up my build slot date 3 weeks after the date I was told I would be informed of my slot.

The whole situation is a shame from my point of view. I've wanted a 911 since I was a kid and, while the price increase is only 1%-ish, on principle I'm not happy to just roll over and pay it. Porsche would hold me to a contract so I believe they should be held to theirs.

I also, don't really understand the opinion that prices can/should go up due to 'inflation'. Firstly, the current spike in the inflation rate is being led by fuel and food price increases, but more importantly, it's the manufacturers business to plan appropriately and either impose price increases from point of order, or ensure the contract allows them to impose subsequent price increases. I'd love to be able to increase prices arbitrarily in my business after contracts were signed! But, quite rightly, none of my customers would accept it!

Prices (in general) are going up due to FX rate... inflation is just a result of the FX decline post Brexit.

If anything, Porsche are being 'generous' and swallowing the majority of the impact - in so far as the FX decline is c.15%, yet the increase is only c.1.7%.

Unfortunately inflation is a necessary side effect of a global economic capitalistic world we live in and is needed to sustain growth and deflate debt to keep us gullible consumers knocking on the door. That is why politicians run scared at the mention of the dreaded word "DEFLATION"...!
As i suspect i'm metaphorically flogging a dead horse here i'll come straight to the point........Either buy the fucensoreding car or simply ask for your £5K deposit back.....Simples...;)

If you can afford PTS and get a slot 100% I wouldn't think twice. There are some fantastic colours! We've just ordered a PTS Boxster for SWMBO.

Just picked mine up today. Early days yet but every new car I get Porsche seem to move the game on (I've had a couple of 991.1 S's and test drove a few early 991.2's). Steering feel has improved. PDK feels sharper. Its my first turbo since a 997.1 Turbo but first impressions of the new engine are remarkably good - sharp throttle response and bags of low down torque. Sport sharpens things up even more. Mine has the RWS as I've had it on previous cars - definitely feel the difference. The interior is just lovely - I spec'd the GTS/leather option. Thanks to OPC Leeds for getting the car so promptly!

Fantastic ! Interior and more exterior shots please! Oh and what's the PSE like ? I think I read they have tweaked it over other 991.2's ?

Nice one indeed. Very early car and beating the car tax increase. Fantastic job!

I tried to convince myself I needed a Targa but at 15k over the 2wd it makes little sense for me..

Very nice! Yes the new PCM is night and day better isn't it...and hopefully relatively future proof because of Apple Car Play.
