My dealer is awful on updates, even when asked, is there another way to find out progress?
My OPC is taking delivery of its PTS 991.2 GTS demo this month...at least that's what they told me.

And yes no Ducktail on the 991.2....the new equivalent is like a lip spolier....a biit like the back of a Boxster. Not worth the money and currently not available.

I'm still completely undecided if I should upgrade from my 981 GTS, I’m waiting for my OPS demo car to arrive next month. As I like the aesthetics of the car but it's how it drives and sounds compared to my car which are unknown to me. The other thing is the spec of the car is coming out at not far from a 991 GT3 but it’s the engines and reports which have put me off the 991.1 GT3.

I guess the best thing to do is drive the car and if it gives me the same enjoyment level as my current car.

So driving trip to Wales this weekend with 2 gts 991 and some friends of course

So how does it feel compare??? I just got the invite from my OPC for the PEC to have a go. I need to book a date asap.

Sound? Turbo lag? Fun to drive around Wales? I was bitterly disappointed by my M2 when I took it round there, the engine was just dull at high revs.

They are Gen 1 GTS's so N/A. No turbo lag at all.

Hahahah. I had completely missed it. I thought it was the Silver car posted a few threads back who had made the trip :-))

Yes I bet these didn't have issues with lag nor sound..

the 991s looks huge in that pic! the 430 is not a narrow car but it looks small in comparison, that's the camera surely?

On the matter of lag , there are so many contradictory reports ,both in the press and on here the only valid way is to judge yourself .
I didn't find the c2s I tried laggy at all ,I was pleasantly surprised , otheRs on here have a differEnt view .

If you keep the revs up then there will be little to no lag when pushing on but anything in the lower ranges is bound to be less responsive than the old N/A car together with a little less noise and certainly a lot less top end which was the single most noticeable thing for me when i drove one.

It's horses for courses. For me, Instant throttle response is one of the main defining characteristics of a sports car and maybe the 911 is now even more firmly entrenched in the GT sector.

Now, where are the keys to my GT4... biggrin

It's strange how each of us can have completely different perceptions. The 991.2 C4S I drove had no lag I could detect and pulled strongly all the way to the red line. It was a PDK car though and I noticed it dropped a couple of gears the instant the throttle was pressed (even just a little), this obviously gets the turbos spinning with minimal delay - on a manual car I assume it would be easy to get some lag by flooring the throttle at low revs. The sound is OK but agree it's quieter than N/A.

Sorry last night I didn't give specifics.
Yes the 2 gts are gen 1 na. I've not driven new gen 2 so can't comment but points about revs, instant power and oh man the noise past 5k revs is nuts.
As per width yes I think it's the photo since f430 is wide and great noise.
Wales was a great trip around the Brecon's and we all agreed as good as black forest BUT weather was crazy good.
I live in London so only really test the gts when on trips like this, my take always about the car
- sound is so epic
- grunt from around 5k revs is so exciting
- comfort and split personality on drive there and back incredible
- certainly not noticed by locals when fezza was around
- the 2 gts looked very different due to colour and rear spoiler spec which was good for technically same car

Apologies if this has been covered already - but this is a long thread to look back through!

What price were you quoted from your OPC for wheel and tyre insurance and was it negotiable - and do any of you buy it?

I have been quoted £649 for 3 year cover which seems a bit expensive, I know a rear tyre can be about £300 but I feel it may be worth just paying my way as I would need two tyres and kerb one wheel before the insurance would pay off.

3 years for £499 from my dealer - wheel and tyre insurance (10 / 12 refurbs i think) on a new Cayenne with 21" wheels. I had two nails last year and the tyres are pretty expensive. I don't normally take unnecessary insurance on stuff but at £499 made sense and has been worth it.
