Shiverman, would you mind letting me know as well as I am collecting mine tomorrow and have been thinking of wrapping the front end.

Lava Orange GTS with great spec just come into stock at OPC Edinburgh

http://locator.porsche.com/ipl-customer/ipl/detail...

That'll be gone by the end of next week....or even the end of this weekend! If I bought that I'd get a duck tail on it.

Very tempting!

Ha....I wish. I am about to buy a new family barge so dropping another £35 or £40k on trading up from my 997 GTS might raise some eyebrows! That said the family barge isn't 100% necessary.

Heart says Cayenne but head says X5. Currently have the latter and I am told by SWMBO that the third row seats are "useful to have" but we haven't used them for six months at least! I'd really, really like a Cayenne but I saw the new Panamera at the PEC last week which looked superb and the best interior in its class by a mile. Don't fancy dropping £80k on something that will look very out of date in 12 months!

I have a 2015 Cayenne Diesel and its the best car I have ever had. A few choice options such as bigger wheels, heated seats, PASM which is a must (dont need air IMO) and memory seats / Bose and you're pretty much there.
I think I paid just over 60k for it. The X5 was a similar price once spec'd, perhaps a little cheaper but then maybe Cayenne residuals will be better?

Also there is a new Cayenne coming out next year. I was told by Porsche that its April 2017 but they have delayed it for 6 months from that date which could be a ruse so that current sales dont slow down.
Could be a some decent discounts to be had on the 3 litre of perhaps even the Platinum model?

I believe 7 or 8% discounts are available which with the Platinum model make the Cayenne very competitive. I am weary of buying a car in the year before its replaced though...especially having seen the new Panamera at the PEC recently. The new interior is just brilliant and that's going to be in next year's Cayenne apparently.

Need to drive a Cayenne though which I am going to try and do at the weekend.

I was told realistically deliveries won't start for 18 months. So unless you were first in and ordered before you have seen the car chances are your looking at 2 years from now

Yes I'll feed back, had Cup 2's on the GT4 but I'm pretty sure Reading OPC won't allow it out with track derived rubber as its not a GT model as such.
There isn't much stock about of anything N rated in the size I require apart from Pirelli and Goodyear Eagle F1's at the moment so not sure what they'll find for me.

I like the Michelins as they have a nice look to the sidewalls and the Supersports are well known to be a good performance tyre but my experience with Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetrics is very positive. Great tyres.

Does anyone have an experience of the Pirelli P-Zeros? I used to hate the things years ago as wet weather performance was shocking, things might have changed?

Guess I'll find out soon enough!
How are you finding the GTS? What tyres did the OPC eventually put on? I am due a new set soon so interested to hear your thoughts.

Process has been delay as they've now decided to service it for me as we ran into October and there were a couple of marks on the bonnet they weren't happy with.
Almost ready now, so collection I hope on Thursday.

Tyres are Pirelli P Zero. Apparently they are a lot better than they used to be with a new compound, no cracking and something taken out of the ingredients. They're dated '2616' - 26th week 2016 so are the latest tyres.
Porsche would only put on these or Dunlop Sport Maxx which are more of a track tyre and come with less tread depth etc like Michelin Cup 2's but not as good apparently.

I'll see how I get on with them and change them down the line if no good. I was disappointed that Michelin had no offerings for me at all in terms of an N rated tyre and absolutely no one else did either for that matter.

Dunlop Sport maxx is just a normal road tyre and has full tread.

GT4 and the like came on the track Race maxx.

Sorry I was incorrect. The tyres I was offered were indeed the Race Maxx. Hence I didn't go for them.
They're also really expensive for some reason every compared to the cup 2's?

Collection Thursday!

Just looked at the locator and I can't work out why the 4 GTS is so much more expensive than the 2 GTS across the board?
I know the 4 was more money when new but surely the more pure driving experience in the 2WD car would have evened that out by now?

Good luck for Thursday! Yes i did notice that the price difference on the 4GTS also. My local OPC sold a Targa 4GTS for £117K last week which surprised me. Looked stunning also.

Targa looks stunning and I haven't driven one but I've been put off by a lot of people saying you get lots of buffeting at 50-80 mph. I think that would really annoy me but it is probably the best looking 911 in the line up at present and holding its money very well.

Agreed. This one was Carmine Red and looked awesome with the GTS wheels. Didn't realise the GTS targa's were only in 4wd.

Yes thats right so they are heavy cars. Apparently the performance is dull somewhat which also affects the feel and handling.
I very much prefer the coupe but having said that the Targa is nice and I would have it over a cab for sure.

I think that's very fair summary. Coupe or Targa...latter is such a great looking car.

The reason Targe GTS's are making such strong money is that there are so few of them around...most OPC's only had one or maximum two cars.

Silverstone has a brown Targa GTS a few months ago which sold very quickly at strong money. They currently have a regular 991 Targa in stock which is black with a red interior...looks the absolute nuts.
