I've had confirmed from porsche the next Gts will be turbo which makes these the last naturally aspirated kid carrying 911 ever. Guy I know at porsche was demanding me not to sell and keep hold which is what I will be doing + driving hard as wel.
Pics from welsh blast?
Yeah can't see porsche putting a non turbo engine in the 991.2 GTS. Especially when the rest of the gen 2 range is turbo.

Yes I did. Cabin space is the main noticeable difference as everything else interior wise is similar. It feels a little bigger but I think thats due to the cabin space as the width is actually about the same as the GT4?
In terms of driving, obviously there is the PDK which is great for every day use but the thing I like most over the Cayman is the more evocative sound. It sounds a lot more exotic in the cabin with a lovely howl thats just not there in the GT4. in fact you can hear the engine more even though its further away? It adds a lot to the driving experience and then there's the shape and iconic rear end of the 911. I had 918 buckets in the GT4 and they were great, the sports seats in the GTS are good and very comfortable and so far haven't given me back ache.

The handing is sublime when in sport plus mode with the stiffer dampers and then when you want to cruise, its supple and unflustered. I've taken my girls to school in it and also done the shopping in it a couple of time so its getting more use.
Had only positive comments so far. It gets noticed but I also like the slightly less 'Ferrari' style look at me Red paint work and rear wing. Theres a larger gap between hard and soft in the GTS as you'd expect as in normal driving mode with no buttons pressed, its quiet and relaxed until you hoof it but once you press Sport or Sport Plus (stiffer damper comes in) it changes its personality completely. I would also say that it feels quicker, not massively but more urgent for sure and more inclined to rev harder which would make sense given the engine isn't restricted.

I loved the 'chuckableness' of the GT4 but this for me is slightly less compromised and more useable and enjoyable for 90% of the time. Its harder than a cooking 911 which is a good thing for me and probably why i don't see much difference between it and GT4 in terms of ride quality / firmness when in sport plus mode. Its personality is definitely somewhere very much in the middle between 991S and 991 GT3. The perfect road car then?!

As a road car the GTS wins as an all round proposition for me whether 991 or 997 (which is what I have). The extra two seats means in my case with two young kids it gets used more than a 2 seater GT3 would and I think the GTS suspension for British B roads and Country Lanes is just great...in my 997 GTS I don't use the Sport PASM setting...doesn't need it and the car feels more planted on bumpy roads in the softer setting. I started out wanting a 991 GTS but couldn't find a manual car so went with the 997 when one came up.

A manual 997 GTS is a lovely thing. Don't ever sell it unless its to me! The manual 991 GTS' I was offered were both from the PEC experience. They're like gold dust much like the 997's.

Thanks for great posts. I've not driven at gt4 and while I like the sound and looks for me the points you made about gap between hard and soft re Gts is the real winner for me. Had mine for a year now and it's had wife and 2 kids up the motorway and been matching a new model lambo round sweeping roads in the Black Forest before munching the miles back across France. Yes I'm always wanting something that looks more 'exotic' (don't all us car fans) but for living in London (not commuting) - then heading out with pals on a hoon - to taking kids to football I really can't think of a car that gives me all that. Now the thoughts of these going all turbo except for roll cage no rear seat types it's hard me thinking how if ever I replace it

Just in case anyone wants a manual 991 GTS 2wd see link below.
Its an ex Reading / Silverstone PEC - experience centre car though and those 7000 miles have been mostly done on track.

And in GT Silver! Even with that history I'd be tempted. Unfortunately I am taking delivery of a Cayenne next week....that's probably enough spending on cars this month.

Good price despite comments above and low spec. Would see Boxster Gts as nice addition to garage

The sapphire blue 4 GTS manual that sold about 2 months ago went for about 85k at Swindon and needed new brakes all round. It was advertised at 87k and they took slightly less they told me.

Someone might buy this not knowing its history as I doubt very much they will disclose that its a PEC car. They will probably say 'ex Porsche Management' but thats about it!

Bit naughty really! I'd want to see an over rev print out too being a manual.

That Sapphire Blue car was around for a long time as well. Maybe the 2 GTS in GT Silver will move quicker as I think people that want a manual will generally want a "2".

How did the performance compare to the other cars there? I'd imagine the Lambo would be way quicker but what about the Ferrari?

Agreed, the GT silver car that was I think at Tewksbury sold in about a day.

Only 6 2wd 991 GTS' on the Porsche used locator now! They move really quickly!

I wonder if the new 991 going turbo will have an impact on these more quickly than we thought?

I don't think so as i was mightly impressed with the 991.2 targa 4 PDK i testdrove on wednesday despite my prior biased misgivings. The torquey 370hp engine seemed to shrug off the 1600+kg plus us four up with nonchalent ease.I'm now considering changing my limited use GT4 for a 991.2C2S manual in either brash lava orange or more likely safe but classy GT silver and save myself £1000 in the bargain.
ps sports exhaust is essential imo.

Interesting. Do u also have 991 Gts?
I would be keen to try new turbo but would only be if I can keep a na engine at same time be it current 991 Gts or swap for Boxster Gts etc. But not in financial situation or wife justification right now to do it. That said I've not driven new turbo so can't comment. I also specked my Gts too high to sell right now - yes even went burmester.
While keen for more low down power I think I'd miss the high end screaming engine sound
