6 weeks or so in now and loving it. What a spectacular car. Should have done it years ago.

A tad expensive perhaps but not by much. Someone will have that I reckon!
Sold 'over the phone for the full asking price', according to the dealer.

Wow, markets strong for these - that's nearly 6k more than I paid for mine a few months ago and mines got more kit on it and only had 2k miles although it is a 15 plate rather than a 65. All the cars with the right spec seem to be selling in days. Prices on the up?

Agreed. Pal in the US said it's so hard to buy a Gts at moment.
So what does this group think right spec is since it's been mentioned a few times. Sure we can make a long list but key things?

I think Gts pack and pdk

Doesn't really surprise me. As I posted a few pages ago I know one was sold by an OPC at the end of Nov for £106k...very high spec car sold in one phone call.

Posted in mainly in response to the "Buy it for sub-90 from an opc or you're a pussy" response a few pages ago.

Its been for sale for a little while, well a couple of weeks now. A £90k car is always going to be a harder sale privately.

I may be wrong, but didn't someone on here say it had sold a few weeks back? Its not coming up on the private plate via DVLA either which would further suggest it has sold. My bet is the seller has forgotten to take it off 991uk.

I think the best deal by far recently was the white car that popped up privately at £87k for about a day. The blue one at Ferraghini only lasted a few days as well and made a nice change from the monochrome colours.

Of what's for sale at the moment, I think this car at Rybrook represents excellent value: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...
... although a pity it doesn't have privacy glass to complete the overall black on white look!

It's not got leather dash but the 23k mile white OPC £85k car with Aerokit, -20 sus and lots more bits looks reasonable value at £85k with 2yrs warranty and probably a little bit more haggle room. I imagine that's where 23-25k miles cars are - <£85k?

I wouldn't say so, just wait a couple of months and prices will firm. Cars with GTS packs are always favoured.
Bristol sold a 17k mile car for 93k a couple of weeks ago and Bolton have just sold their Carmine one for plus 90k with similar miles.

I think people are chopping them in for the new 991.2 'S' hence the amount on sale but in fact as some people have said who are in the market and have called these ads, lots have been sold and ads still remain.
There are however a few about on the Porsche locator now so its a good time to get in and buy one. Prices won't be dropping significantly ever I don't think and may even start to rise. Its the last of the non turbo's, its already a classic.

I'm new to the forum and have enjoyed reading all the posts on the GTS. I have a pretty well spec'd manual 991.1 4S which I love. However, looking at the GTS's and your comments, I can't help but wonder if it's worth trying to find a GTS? I love the NA engine & manual gearbox. Is there a lot of difference between a well spec'd 4S and a GTS?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Small detail changes and alcantara make the difference, whether they're worth it to you only you can answer.

Longer term, I would expect to the GTS to have better residuals.

Thanks - I noticed a few aesthetic differences which look good but I was also wondering about the extra 30 hp. I believe I read somewhere that it doesn't make any odds to the acceleration times (0-60 doesn't mean much to me anyway) but just wondering if there's any difference in the feel of the car once on the go?

It's the power kit so it's got a bit more power towards the redline. Top end is more lively I think. It's one of those cars that is more than the sum of its parts. On paper not much more than a standard carrera but when you drive it it just all adds a bit more to each area of the car and makes it feel special. I believe the suspension is tweaked over a normal Carreras too and I've got the -20mm which makes the car feel stiffer without compromising comfort. Definitely a better (louder) sound than a standard carrera too!

Just do it!

Thanks....yes, what you say makes sense, i.e. Not huge individual differences but added together they have more impact on the experience. The problem I'll have, reading this thread as well as checking online, is finding one I like. I want to stick with a manual and given the choice, a 4 GTS too (live in NE Scotland with attendant weather) - quite fancy that lime gold affair that's for sale at the moment (not that it's a 4) but couldn't stick with that colour....wrap or respray....decisions, decisions....
