Does anyone's 991.1 have the same steering wheel as this car:

?

Interested to hear what the switch in the last picture does - is it an active cruise control?
Not sure - isn't it just volume control?

I think you lose the paddles with that wheel?

That silly 'button' is to change gear believe it or not, same on both sides of the wheel and a pain to use at speed!
This is a multi function steering wheel which I can't understand being on a GTS just goes against the whole ethos of the car imo!

Nice car, but would have to swap that steering wheel straight away!

Yes the silver one changes gear, sorry I presumed everyone knew that and he meant the little black button with the + and -

Agree I'd have to change to a sport design wheel.

Yes it was the little black +/- I was referring to. Rest of the car looks fab, pity about that steering wheel.

... although perhaps you get a Sport Design steering wheel thrown in, as its shown in the 6th photo!

Couldn't live with the silly button gear change myself

Prices seem to be on the up for NA 991.1 GTS....

Several cars back up to £100k and the OPC I spoke to the other day said they are very in demand, last one they had sold first phone call.

Not complaining! But having had the car out after being tucked up in the garage for a few weeks I really don't know what I'd replace it with at the moment...
I can confirm after paying top end for a 4,000 mile white one with the ducktail spoiler (was a must have for me). It was very high spec though.

Congrats! Love the ducktail myself, wasn't sure until I saw the car i bought with it. makes the car look a bit different and adds to the wide body look I think. You'll love it!!

Have you got a photo of your car? Love a ducktail!

Oh and a friend of mine bought a Manual 991.1 GTS last week, not advertised. But paid over the £100k indicated GT silver less than 2k miles 65 reg. He missed out on allocation for an R so this was the next best thing for him. (he's bought 22 new porsches up until now, and still didn't get an R)

You need your head examining if you trade in a 991.1 for a .2 IMHO!
Why is na that big a deal vs the extra pace and substantial improvements to the steering rack and chassis ?

Have you heard a NA compared to a turbo? Turbo just loses that howl to me. They sound ok on startup but once on the move the sound just seems to disappear whereas a .1 GTS has you laughing out loud. And the last thing I think when driving it is I wish it was a couple tenths faster? Plus the turbo throttle response is never the same as NA. I obviously haven't driven the new GTS yet but had quite a few goes in 991.2 and if it's similar to that it's not for me compared to .1 GTS

I'll dig one out when I get a mo. Mines a high spec - PDK, gt silver (love it and gets many compliments), ducktail, led lights, glass roof, GTS interior silver, rear apron painted, side skirts painted, 18 way adaptive seats, privacy glass rear and sides, -20mm spasm (awesome makes the car sit so nice), heated seats, cruise, park assist front and rear, Bose, plus a few other bits I've forgotten.

Ignore the stuff he's saying as its unfair comparing a GT3 against a GTS.
Just listen to the noise!

Now compare that with the turbo GTS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKD2fNVP7kw now see if you can hear that?

.1 GTS sounds pretty much as good as GT3 I think. Not saying as good as overall but sound wise it's 99% in my experience. The videos never do the sound justice to real life, it's louder, more of a howl that makes the hairs on your neck stand on end, the pops and bangs and the sound it makes in the last couple of k to red line with the Power kit are immense.

I'll have to double check as Im not sure - Not that it matters 1 jot. GTS pricing is clearly hardening and 991.2 prices softening. 991.2 GTS will be quicker I am sure but doesnt make it a better car. I am sure like you many 997 GTS Owners won't want to let their cars go either.
Is your GTS manual?

But I read those posts he put and bit harsh replies from some if I'm honest - clearly hadn't been on here that long and didn't know rules.
Here to talk about cars (Y) biggrindriving not belittle other PH members (Im no angel either - people in glass houses and all that)
I see you have a high post count on here - christ thats some serious PH forum time!!! biggrin

On another note spoke to DMS Earlier out of interest and a remap sees 451 bhp (from 424) and 354lb-ft (from 324) with the figures coming in around 1500rpm earlier so feels far quicker! Sounds like a tempting idea when the car is out of warranty period.... pain to have to remove each time before service until then. Chap said it makes the car just that bit more useable and quite a bit quicker to cover ground! biggrindriving
Anybody ever considered it? Or only on turbo cars...

Damnnnnn looks lovely that - Im sure my friend wishes his new one has the ducktail - he has a 997 sport classic so would look perfect next to that biggrin

Yes my 997 GTS is a manual....not sure whether I would go for a manual in a 991.1 or not to be honest.

I was chatting to the Business Manager at my OPC a couple of weeks ago...they've been struggling to buy cars. When I spoke to him they literally had one 911 on their books of any sort...they have since bought a few cars. 991.1 GTS is a very safe place to put your money at the moment I think.
