The issue I see here is cars are easier to drive and need less skill, PDK, RWS, PTV etc is all dull to me.

I agree with the above post by " Cheib "

I have learned a craft and I get a buzz from driving well and fast to quite a good standard.
Now ave Joe can pilot a car just as fast as I can due to all these driver aids.

The ave driver loves all this new tech because it make them feel safe and faster than they could go before.
I find there is nothing what so ever to do while driving a new car and while it's fun for 1/2 a day in a loaner the cars have no sole or longevity in them, one tends to just want to go faster and faster.

A to B now in the 991.2 GTS is mind blowing and a great car for people who don't really like cars , if that makes sense. you have the PDK so no changing of gear, you have a turbo so torque on hand every where, you have RWS so no trail braking needed, you have PTV so if the car runs a bit wide it tucks back in.

even that new ring record looks easy at 6.52 in the lambo vs watching the 911 Ruff faster is not better.
Once again, I'm afraid you're wrong (unless of course your comments are just intended to be deliberately controversial..?)

I'm puzzled by your comment that you find there's "nothing whatsoever to do while driving a new car"....My 991 GT3, and 991 RS both had PDK and RWS, and I amassed several thousand miles across UK and Europe in them, and never once did I even contemplate that they had no soul or longevity. I challenge you to drive a very quiet route Napoleon on a cold February morning at a decent rate of knots, and tell me that you had "nothing to do"....

I love cars, and having had a GT4, and then a 991 GTS, I cant wait for my 991.2 GTS to arrive.

And if that Lambo lap looks easy to you, then I await you getting hold of one, strapping a GoPro in it, and setting a 6:52...like you said, its the car doing the work, should be easy....

Thanks to everyone that has contributed to this thread, it's been very informative.
I have changed my order from C4s to a 4 GTS coupe and I am in lockdown next week or so for a July build. Does anyone know if there is a code for inner stitching on the steering wheel that can be optioned in line with the rhodium package?

I had RWS in my C4s test drive and have to admit it was very lively even at low speed on the road. I am not going to option this as it was a bit too direct for me especially going around roundabouts at slow speed.

I am choosing Rhodium/Rhodium with Glass roof speed limit display dimming mirrors light design package heated multifunction steering wheel standard 4 way seats seat heating smoking package Bose. I just cannot decide on the reversing camera, LED lights or active cruise, any user feedback on these last three items would be appreciated. Thanks...
is that a manual? just curious why not the 2wd, would think most of the buyers of manual cars would want the 2wd
Sorry for missing that, I have chosen PDK, I thought it was an outstanding gearbox and the star of the show as far as I was concerned. Understand the manual thing and had that in my vantage but this is a daily, and for ease of use in a 4 GTS that was my decision. I've also had a California which was also a superb gearbox and the PDK is along side if not better.
I chose the four-wheel-drive over the two wheel drive as we loved the rear light but most importantly the comfort of having all four wheels if and when you need them in the wet.

I'd be it would be interesting to run a pole on the new GTS who has chosen what colour, could be a lot of interest ?

Thanks for your input. I've chosen Rhodium silver external with the Rhodium alcantera interior. Mrs Cipo wants GT silver however....
I'm with Mrs Cipo. Rhodium looks bit cheap IMO. GT is best silver. Ever. The End.

I have a Rhodium 981 Spyder - love it but I've ordered the GT Silver 911 GTS (not seen it obviously) and never thought I would buy a car with black wheels! I always thought they were a bit chavvy but I'm now getting it. I even bought a white car and still think it looks great. PS don't feed the troll.[url]

Another vote for GT silver over Rhodium - rhodium has a hint of blue in it and imo looks a tad feminine.
Theres a reason 911 Rs were offered in GT silver and not Rhodium winkdriving

Rev camera - no it's only a small car never felt the need for one.
Led lights - yes these are awesome
Active cruise - maybe if you drive on motorway a lot otherwise wouldn't bother

Another yes for LED lights.
Active cruise - again, yes if you do lots of motorway driving. (Annoyingly, it'll be the same VW active cruise system that's standard on my Golf R and Golf 1.6tdi SE...!)

I'm not even considering Rhodium I'm afraid, GT Silver looks great to me, but I wonder if a brighter colour would be better, my BGTS looks great in Guards Red, but maybe Carmine suits the 911 better? I keep coming back to GT silver though, it looks great in the flesh, sleek and classy without being 'in your face '.

Just to add to this - the silver looks good with the black Turbo S wheels, trim and glass sunroof (in my case). And the Rhodium GTS interior will be fine with it too - I'm not a lover of the GTS interior in red as the red rev counter is not to my liking, I'd prefer all the instruments in black really but the silver rev counter is acceptable. I have never been a fan of black wheels either, but those centre locks look great.

Thanks everyone. So, LED lights tick, active cruise tick (M3 motorway), Rev cam - 50/50
Onto the colour, agree Rhodium can look old fashioned, feminine and even cheap, but the UK has bloody miserable weather and is overcast for long periods of time, hence the lighter colour and I always liked my SL's iridium silver. This coupled with the Rhodium interior match was my thinking......

Anyone going to spec matching steering wheel stitching if it's possible?

It's probably possible at a cost a bit like the 12 O'clock marker is possible to order on the alcantara steering wheels. It'll be an "Exclusive" option over and above what is on the configurator and thus reassuringly expensive!

It's a CXX option - I got it done with my 991.1 GTS, in Rhodium. Just ask your dealer and he'll get a price and be sure to be sitting down when he tells you. I managed to get a fair chunk knocked of the initial quote.

The alternative is to get someone like Royal Steering Wheels to re-stitch after delivery, for about a fifth of the price. Not original and quality varies (but usually good)- can you live with that?

Thanks Wizzbang, looks good, that's exactly what I'm looking for. Not sure if I'll go the Third party route but let's see what price comes back. May as well ask for the 12 o'clock marker price too while I'm about it........

This is a great thread and one I am finding very helpful. I am thinking of Graphite Blue, but my main dilemma is the manual versus PDK I keep changing my mind!

I too considered graphite blue. Matt Prior says the car in their Autocar video is that colour, it's looks great in the video, but in the flesh it looks more blue. Anyway, I went with Agate grey. PDK for me. The gearbox suits the car, and the 7 speed manual isn't that great.

have gone for jet black metallic with the rear privacy glass, but the colour choices are all really tempting so i can see why not many choose black!

I had a black 991.1 GTS C2 coupe, with an aerokit and black centre lock wheels. Looked fantastic, but I fancied a change..!

Regards the manual/PDK dilemma i think you need to go an OPC with both boxes and drive both back to back.Bear in mind any negative comments about the gearchange in the manual 991.1 should be ignored as the manual box is hugely improved in the 991.2...!..I drove a manual 991.2s for about an hour and half on thursday at PEC Silverstone and was pleasantly surprised although i never got a chance to go further than 3rd due to the short straights.Basically you need to drive the 991.2 at all speeds in both town and motorways to get the feel for all the ratios. All the reviews have been positive on the 991.2GTS manual...
Despite my glowing comments i'm still going for the PDK on my GTS as its faster and really suits the car in all scenarios despite being £2800 extra however the manual is more involving....
There was a graphite blue 991.2 at Silverstone and it looked really good in the sunshine however i'm going for safe classy GT silver although i was tempted paying extra for either Miami blue,Lava orange or Carmine red,all of which imv really suits the car....!

I didn't realise they did this, like the idea of the 12 o'c marker
