^Kind of this.

It's like all the cosmetic things you wonder about doing to a turbo, actually being done. This must be what it's like when OCD combines with available funds. I love it.
All of the above! Glad you like it.

Love the GT2 style Turbo above, very nice. One of the chaps on 911uk did this conversion a while back but left the interior standard. That was my original plan to leave the interior standard but that soon changed. I quickly decided I wanted it to be the best copy I could make.

If you want the real deal GT2RS it's going to cost you £300,000+

Not many people can afford that.

Looks great! Never understood the fetish about keeping your car 100% standard, just boring.

When I get round to it I will do something similar but going the other way, I'm going to rip the cage out of my GT2 and put seats in the back so I can use it a bit more (kids).

Top effort!

Well I'm in the market for a cage, is your GT2 a 997? If so let me know if you do that. Shame as I sold all of my back seat and seatbelt set up, we could have done a trade.

^This. And then look at the value of 'replica' (recreation, whatever the fk anyone fussy enough to argue wants to call it) 993 GT2s. Granted, there's a much smaller market, but it is still a 'thing' that other people can appreciate and might want to buy into. All that value nonsense aside, this is as much about the journey of creation as the creation itself, and of the owner's stamp being made. I do get it.
Yes I think the more expensive and exlusive the originals become the replicas do have value for a smaller but keen market. I have no interest in that market however as mine is a keeper, so as long as I can afford to own it, it will stay with me.

And they way prices are now for originals you never see them on the road. I've been a big fan for years and I've only seen 2 and that was at Porsche parked outside and once at Tech9. So if you see a black one on the road it could well be me!

I've had many discussions about the subject of replicas and I've heard many comments both positive and negative. Now I just focus on my own pleasure. This is a car for me, I know some get upset with the stickers and some don't like that 'it's just trying to be something it's not' etc. But it's just a car and I love the styling and I like the fact that I have the fun as if I was driving the real thing in the sense of occasion it gives if not the performance. But I'd say I have maybe 70-80% of that too.

My car has effectively gone down the same route Porsche went. They took a turbo, made it RWD, then removed weight. I have left the AWD but have removed weight; how much I don't know yet, but I'd guess about 40-50 kilos.

I certainly wouldn't argue that my car is better than the genuine article. But I would argue that it's better for me. I like the AWD system and would be scared of the RWD GT2/RS. In actual fact when I bought my car the GT2 was only about £25k more. I opted to get the Turbo as it had the AWD system (also if I had bought a GT2 I would have most likely sold it by now to cash in on the prices). So for me it's better in that sense. However is it a better car, no. It's already had power upgrades and next year I'm contemplating going all out on that front to better the performance of the standard GT2RS.

My aim moving forward is to make it handle as well and have same/more power. To give me as close as possible to the real thing with the 'safety' of the AWD system.

great approach and attitude, exactly what I would be doing if I had your budget bar the carbon bonnet which looks a little odd to me still
I like it. And when you are going for identical looks you kind of have no choice! But I would have anyway as I think it looks good.
