that's a long wait .. surprising
I have no idea why the lead times have shot up over the last few weeks, but it seems to be the case at most/all OPC's.

When i started looking & first called into OPC Bolton in February, the lead times were 6mths but the Gen 2 Turbo S had not long been launched & the dealer cars were only arriving later in February. Now they're in the wild & they've had some fantastic reviews in the press, i guess demand has increased quickly & thus the lead times risen. Can only be a good thing for buyers though assuming they're prepared to wait.

The anomaly car is the Macan GTS which is currently suffering with 18mth lead times & i found that more than a little surprising.

congratulations!! dream car incoming... superb.....

March 2017 though yeesh...
and privacy glass? the rears' blacked out the fronts' crystal clear?
This and satin/matt black wheels. A scourge on such beautiful cars IMO.
It does look good on a Sapphire Blue car & works with the many black accents on the car. Only rarely would I have a child seat in the back so not ticked the option for the kids reason, purely as I think it looks good on the car & the slight benefit of keeping the cabin a little cooler in the Summer. If I went Agate I'd possibly drop the Privacy glass & the black headlights, but I'm only likely to decided on this when I visit the PEC in a couple of months.

Hi Mate

great choice you wont regret it, the most usable allrounder ballistic car on sale today.

take a look at sunroof option

time will fly

Tim
Thanks Tim.

The demo car I had for a weekend had the Glass sunroof & I have a sunroof in my M5 that never gets opened (albeit it's metal on the M5). What I found with the Porsche is that due to it being very dark glass it didn't let much light in while shut with the blind open & I wouldn't drive around with the sunroof open. I also don't like how the open roof looks on the outside of the car, kind of hanging off the back of the roof. Did consider briefly but saw no advantage & it would of course add a bit of weight. Would look good against privacy glass on a Blue car but wasn't enough to push me to part with £1500.

Currently agate grey but I think I'm going to switch to graphite blue.

As for spec:

Delete model designation
Porsche logo painted
PDLS+ in black
Tilt/slide glass sunroof
Privacy glass
Roof transport system
Headlight cleaning covers painted
SportDesign exterior mirror lower trims painted in black (high gloss)
Front axle lift system
Light design package
Rear Footwell lighting
Floor mats
Isofix
Burmester sound system

I am debating Power Steering Plus, and seat centres/steering wheel/PDK lever in alcantara!
Lovely spec. I'm too tight fisted to go in quite that deep but may play around with some of the lesser priced options.

I've not heard the Burmester system yet but although no doubt better than the standard Bose, I found the Bose to be as good as any system I've heard, including the HK in my M5 so I decided against that cost. Base reason is what music will be played as the source music will probably be low quality being streamed or MP3's so unless you're playing physical CD's in the car, any uplift will be somewhat lost.

I asked the question about Power Steering Plus & didn't get great feedback. Not driven a car with it but heard it makes the steering feel a little more artificial.

You've got me thinking a may need to get back on the configurator for a playsmile

My current GTS is Agate Grey and gets loads of positive comments from mates etc, all seem to love the colour. I like it but do not think it's that stand out.
I saw this on Twitter yesterday.........Yum:

What colour is that as it looks stunning? Doesn't look like anything I've seen on the Configurator so leads me to think it's a special order colour. My preference would have been Voodoo blue, but not shelling out £3k on special paint.

I think it's Graphite Blue, like I said it's very light sensitive and can look a lot paler than that. Up close it is very Mettalic, stunning.
Will take a look at Graphite Blue, does look stunning.

I know I know, not good form... just my opinion
and I'm only immensely envious
Is an option I'd unlikely go for if I didn't choose the Sapphire Blue. Just think it looks good with the blue. Not a lot of glass in the car anyway so the impact perhaps isn't as great as say on my current M5 so may well drop it as an option neared the lock down date.

An option really worth playing with is the bright/chrome window trim, try it on the configurator, really makes a massive impact. I would be tempted with it as it goes with the chrome on the Turbo S alloys.
Never even spotted that option. What colours would that work with? I think the blue body, black accents & yellow calliper work very well. On Agate I agree the gloss black doesn't work as well & if I choose Agate I'd drop the tints & black headlamps.

With so many variables I am finding the perfect combo difficult to decide on. Keen to see a graphite blue/crayon interior as on the Config I'm not so sure, but in dealers samples it looks fantastic. Black of course is the safest option.

OP - it's probably going to make little to no difference to the value of your car/running costs etc. but given the expected delivery date it may be worth considering whether you want the car to be registered before or after the new vehicle excise duty rates come in on 1 April 2017:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/vehicle...

It's not going to have a massive impact in the short term, but once the car is say 10 years old people may prefer to have a post 1 April 2017 car (tax of £140 instead of £515 a year).

Not the biggest of costs when running a 911 Turbo so it shouldn't really be a factor, but I guess psychologically it may come in.

Just some food for thought while you wait for the car smile
A good point & my Dealer did say the same, but should be fine as hoping to get the car for a March 1st delivery or certainly around that time.

When I was looking at the new 991.2 turbo S the SE told me to expect a loss of £20k +, and another -£8k more if I traded it in to them at the end of a year!!!
Nothing wrong with that then as is less than 15% in year 1. I'd naturally factor over 20% so quite pleased with that.
