I've gone for Oryx white, DSG, 5 doors, Dynamic chassis control, 90% tint on the glass + 2 more years extra warranty. Got my order number sent through today. I went via Car Wow and managed 3.9% discount, not much but I wasn't expecting anything to be honest.

I went for the 19" Pretorias, because I don't really use the DCC on my GTi anyway,and I prefer the Pretorias to the Brescias.
And two years ago, I thought the 36k I spent on the GTi was a silly number...

About a month I think. I was initially told a build of second week of September Approx week 37 and to expect the car in October Doofus said:

When I ordered my gti pp I was told I couldn't order the 19s with the pan roof?DSG

I spoke to VW during the week and they confirm the build date is still week 37. I ordered mine as soon as the order book was opened - mid April - initially they said it might be August build then it changed to mid September which it has stayed. I need a daily run around and have been looking at the clubsport 40th anniversary model. Only read the odd review but so far its a choice between this, an ordinary Golf gti and the Leon cupra 290
Is the clupsport a limited run/number and what is the lead in time for people who have ordered one? Want to get my timing right and try and order one as late as possible for early next year if I can.

I've had an email from the dealer to say the build week is now provisionally week 42 (mid October) and this is called status 10. It needs to go to status 20 which is a confirmed build slot and this hasn't happened yet. It looks like the production problems at VW are now impacting on build times. So from ordering the car in April for an early Oct delivery it could possibly be late November or even in the new year! I know I've signed a contract but surely VW can't have an open ended delivery time. Has anyone ever cancelled a new car order? Can this be done?
I guess you could just walk away as being the car it is they won't have trouble filling your slot.
My first R took 10 months FWIW. Order will only go confirmed 4 weeks prior to the build so I wouldn't be too alarmed yet. It may even come forward again a few weeks.
Having gone through similar with my R, I'd hang on as when the car arrives you'll soon forget about the wait!

Also VW have now started numbering them out of a 1000..... now whether that's 1000 worldwide or UK I'm not sure but i would guess its worldwide.
One just arrived at Swindon and its number 380ish so I wouldn't wait much longer if I were you!

Mine is just showing build confirmed and a production week of 19/9 it is a week later than VW told me but at least there is something happening. I was also told that the production problems wouldn't effect the CS but they would say that!
I'd hang in there but I really am looking forward to mine.
Another note worth bearing in mind is, my edition 35 is registered on a 12 plate. VW celebrated their 35th birthday in 2011. I'm glad mines coming before a '17 plate!
