Zagato wheels on V12VSR...
Discussion
Beat me to it mine are still sat in their boxes.
Looks great, looking forward to having mine fitted.
I decided on them over a set of lightweights as I think they are a more distinctive design. The lightweights to me look like a lot of others wheels. Don"t get me wrong, I like them more than the standard wheels, which I've never been a big fan of, but I wanted an official change that was different.

They are stunning, menacing and yet elegant at the same time - just like the Zag itself! Certainly a lot more individual than any of the other std wheels, yet are still OEM, which to me is a important point too.
Can't wait to get mine fitted when my new car arrives in 4 months, so for now they are still in the boxes. I will try to remember to post a pic on this thread when I do eventually collect and fit.
I wonder just how many of the sets Dave had - I know the advert said 2 pairs, but it's still running and obviously we have at least 3 buyers in this thread. I didn't explicitly ask if he had more than two, but given the situation behind how he obtained them I guess its possible he still has a few more sets too.

All I see is a giant daisy where each wheel should be. Hardly menacing unless you suffer from severe hay fever.

Are these the same weight as the standard wheels (which were fitted to the non S V12 Vantage)?
The AM official V12 Zag literature said they were "Lightweight forged aluminium 19" alloy wheels, unique for V12 Zagato", so I asked Dave if he knew just how light they were and he said he believed they were around 2kg each lighter than the std wheels. I found some info online somewhere on the V12VS lightweights that said they were 1kg each lighter, so it seems they are probably the lightest of the OEM wheels. If it helps the UPS weight of the parcels including packaging were 12kg for the fronts and 13kg for the rears - but I've no idea just how heavily packaged they were... If I remember I will try to get them weighed when they are swapped over, but would be good to hear from anybody who does know the correct actual weights for all 3 types.
It does makes sense that they would have had additional benefits beyond just the design given the £400k+ cost of the V12 Zag!

Its interesting to see which way a persons eye perceives them. I normally see funnels, but occasionally my eye flips and sees the "daisy" petals too!
Here is the link to the info I found on the Std (5 spoke) and Lightweight (7 spoke) OEM wheels:
http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/aston-martin/19... - The info on page 1 about the OEM wheels was allegedly supplied by AM Atlanta but being a US forum the thread quickly wanders off and they start talking about non OEM wheels.
7-spoke 19":
Front - 10.7 kg (23.6 lbs)
Rear - 11.6 kg (25.6 lbs)
5-spoke 19":
Front - 9.83 kg (21.7 lbs)
Rear - 10.88 kg (23.9 lbs)
So all one of us needs to do is weigh the Zagatos once out of the box, or one of the prospective buyers call Dave and ask him to do so. He is very helpful and was a pleasure to deal with, so I'm sure he would oblige.

They refer to 5 and 7 spoke wheels above
The V12 lightweights are 10 spoke and the standard V12 wheel I would argue is also 10 spoke, although I could see why some may refer to it as 5 spoke as it's sort of 5 double spokes

Thanks for your very informative input Adam. Very interesting indeed. It would be good to have the effective weight for each wheel as there's probably a lot of AML marketing talk considering the lightweight wheels are an optional extra on the V12VS.
There is an article in one of the british car mags which says the factory inform them that the V12VS option wheel saves a total of 3.3kg (across the 4 wheels I assume, not 3.3kg saving per wheel)jonby said:

So if you tick the lightweight option wheels and the carbon bucket seats that's a combined 23.3kg weight saving!Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
