Carnewal exhuast on 987.2 anyone?

I have recently changed from a 987.1 with a sports exhaust (from an unknown supplier) that sounded just incredible under power. My new, to me, 987.2 (S) has the stock exhaust and although it does have a reasonable low level grumble when I am hitting the loud pedal there is nothing there to provide the drama. Of course, this is the view from the person inside the car; what is going on outside may well be a little more impressive to the onlooker.
I have considered dropping in to Carnewal later this year to get the cat conversion done just to add the lovely noise and create some excitement when I get out on a drive. Anyone else done this on the 987.2? My only question i, is there droning in the cabin with this mod? There was with the 987.1 but only up to 2.5k revs. It was a bit of a PITA if truth be told but the exhaust note was so sublime and dramatic that I put up with it for the smiley face it gave me at the top end of the revs.
Also, is this a mod that most people wouldn't want when I resell? At the moment, subject to 'usability' when I venture on the annual Eurohoon with the chaps (I'm captain slow!) and check out how the PDK and sports steering wheel suit me rather than the manual, which is how all my previous sports cars have been (not great sentence structure there, sorry!). I am liking the PDK but still feel a little less 'involved' at the moment. If I had bought a manual I would still feel a little sad that the exhaust note wasn't like my last CS. It is noticeably faster than the 987.1 though! Yay!
To end on a good note, the CS is still the best car I have ever driven, PDK or not! I am loving it but perhaps wondering whether the £10k upgrade to the 987.2 from the 987.1 was actually necessary. I could have kept the 987.1 and banked £10k for a rebuild if it became necessary. Post Eurohoon review will eliminate any doubts about whether the upgrade was necessary or worth it but perhaps the Carnewal exhaust, if there is no droning in the cabin, will lead to the stamp of approval and 'keep' sticker. Thoughts?

I have heard a few , join CaymanOC, the founder has one fitted to his and we meet up every month at a cafe near Silverstone, I have an R PSE and a modded exhaust system on my other car.
I personally don't have a carnewal exhaust on my own cars, but every one seems to enjoy what he does to them.

I've a 987.2 S PDK (don't have sports button though) with the GT Carnewal exhaust and the Sports steering wheel with the paddles, so hopefully that qualifies me to answer your question.
Drone, no. Nothing. Ok it's a tad louder at motorway speeds but nothing you'd really notice. Tyre and wind noise are probably more noticeable. I would actually go further and say that there is no drone at any revs at all.
Resale? Warranty? Hmmm, that's a tricky one. I think if you're an enthusiast and buying privately, the Carnewal would be something I'd actively look for. I'm certainly always looking for PSE equipped cars, and I'd suggest that the Carnewal carries a better reputation than a 3rd party manufacturer Sports exhaust, after all it's basically still a Porsche exhaust with some 'tweaks'. My car is still under warranty, but the dealer has no idea (yet) I have the exhaust mod. I'm prepared to battle with them if something non exhaust related goes wrong, and they give me the 'it's not covered under warranty' line .. lets wait and see.
I had a 987.1 RS60 spyder previously, and the PSE was an absolute joy, what a lovely howl. When I picked up my 987.2 with the standard exhaust it sounded pretty nice, but tame and there's certainly a difference in the DFI cars. I asked the dealer to quote me for retro fitting the PSE, but @ 2.5K it was too expensive.
I ordered the Carnewal shortly after, and had it fitted at my local garage. Initially I thought it was too quiet, but it did get a slightly deeper and more gruff tone as it sooted up. After 6 months or so, I think the note is spot on. It's quiet when pottering around, and then has the classic howl further up the rev range. Car parks are fun, and if you keep it under 3K revs there's not a world of difference to the standard pipe. Wind it up though and it sounds lovely.

hated with my 987.1. If only I could have found out which exhaust it was. The tone at higher speeds reminded me a little of the old F1 noise; quite high pitched and shouty. Having had an unsilenced TVR Chimaera for 7 years it was quite a different noise but sublime nonetheless. I think the Carnewal may be the answer, and why not 'pop' over to Belgium to get it done?! The menoPorsche continues with unbounded force! Let joy be unconfined.....
I've got the Porsche sports exhaust, but put the carnewal remote switch on it. You pick whether you want noisy mode on permanently (which I do, and sounds great), or off and it reverts back to standard with the annoying cut out at slow speeds.
Only read good things about the carnewal exhausts. I'd probably get a full unit from carnewal and keep the standard unit to give options come resale. It will cost a bit more, but depends how worried you are about resale.
Anyway... the point of the post was to say if you have a sports exhaust switch in the car, it is worth also getting this remote switch.

Or, for zero cost, spend a couple of minutes getting to the engine bay and pull the plug out.But for the relatively small cost, it takes away the need to open up the engine bay everytime you want to run in normal mode or 'exercise' the valves (Leaving them open permanently can apparently cause them to seize up through lack of use).
Just depends if you want the convenience.
Simple device and mod to make, but it's delivered a lot of satisfaction with its usefulness and pleasure.
I purchased the "Carnewal GT exhaust made from new Cayman R mufflers" so that I'd be able to put the standard exhaust back on the car when I sold it.
I've loved the exhaust and never regretted it.
I may be taking it off for sale in a month or two's time. I could always drop a message to let you know if you'd like?

It's all been covered above, but very happy with mine. I went over to Gert to get it fitted, and he posted the original back to me as I wanted to keep it for resale or at other times I want the car to be completely standard. It took a bit longer to bed in than Gert suggested, probably about 600 miles but it is now a lovely sound with no drone. Just get it done.
