Hi guys, further to recent queries regarding these panels and the need to replace them. I have now had discussions with one of my sources at a specialist architectural lighting company, they use all manner of plastics, and have CNC routing machines and digital surface screen printers. He can easily make them if I can provide a CAD file with external dimensions and the symbol layout on the back. He can do them in either the existing gloss acrylic or a non reflective type (might be a good option).

So, my plan is to source the symbols to drop into a CAD file, and then produce a design file for machining and printing. Will not be able to do this for a week or so, but am quite keen to move this along and therefore be able to provide them either with the dashboard kits or separately. The first step will be a prototype of each to evaluate. Shall keep you all posted. Regards, Pete

Interesting stuff, you certainly have some good contacts! Thanks for the post update Pete. I reckon you are right, the non-reflective could be a better solution. I would definitely be interested in one for my dash. Maybe one of each to choose!

Pete, per email, absolutely put me on the list (for two of them please)
... whichever version looks best! smile

question.. do you know if they are different between the different dashes... like pre-cat and 500 dashes?

Hi Paul, will do. As far as I know and have see they are the same for all Griffs (that have that panel). Regards, Pete

Help Please! Has anyone got one of these panels they could loan me to get the design under way? Thought I had one in the garage, but after spending a lot of time looking can't find it anywhere. Many thanks, Pete

Mine's out, obviously...It's at the workshop, which is closed until Tuesday.

If you haven't sourced one by then, Pete, I'll try to locate it, and send it to you.

Regards...

P.S. Great dash.!!

Pete to save you the trouble. Craig ( Green Meanie) did these a couple of years ago. Might be worth contacting him. I've got one of these in my Griff and its superb.

Hello Brian, Yes I had one as well back in 2014, actually fitted it to the prototype Griffith dashboard I developed. Believe a large number of people have been trying to contact him regards the resupplying of these panels, but to no avail! He seems to have disappeared. As I have the contacts and can design the panel, thought i easier to get them made my end for all those looking for one. Best regards, Pete

Pete, do you intend to make an alloy warning light panel to match your dashes, even if it might be some time away? If not, I might buy one of these, although I'd be much more keen if it had been designed to fit more securely and 'engineeringly'(!) than just glueing it in. It would also look better if it had the same or similar swirls to your dash.

Hello Glyn, thank you for your interest. I have been thinking, if I develop a CAD file for the plastic panel I could at some later stage actually incorporate the symbols into the aluminium dashboards (i.e. NO panel) and also make an aluminium after market panel, again for the aluminium dash's. Never know some people may want an aluminium one in a wooden dash! I must first find the time to develop a CAD drawing. Watch this space!

OK Pete, I'll await developments, I'd prefer something from you that matches your dash and there's no rush. Having the panel designed into the dash would be neat but, for those of us who already have one of your ally dashes, a panel incorporating a couple of lugs would be nice so that we're not trying to glue edge to edge (although it's not beyond most of us to glue a couple of bits of ally to the rear of the panel to aid fixing!).
