I have had my RS4 for 3 years this year and have ferried two kids (5 & 10) and the missus with no real complaints other than its a little bit tight in the back if the 10 year old is behind me, I am 6'1"
They do make great family cars but buy wisely, you will pay for what you get so make sure all the usual items have been recently dealt with. Oil coolers, suspension, clutch & flywheel if it is on or around 80k. It is worth spending that little bit more to get a properly sorted one with a FSH

Probably need to decide what kind of car you want first, you're comparing hot hatches with big diesel exec cars, and then SUVs.

If you're looking at the A7 have you considered a Maserati Quattroporte? Far less sensible, but far more character!

In such a 'buyers market' I'd cross off the idea of a cat d. Why take the risk?

I normally find specifying 'petrol' and 'V8' in autotrader searches, narrows things down nicely. wink

Thxs for the heads up on the rs4, I know I'm it's a weird combination suv and rs4 just the cars That I like on the price range mixture of performance and practicality, fair point in cat D I suppose I was just taking myself into as rs3.
