EML after new engine

So I had a new engine fitted as mine blew up and upon picking the car up the engine light is on - what's your guys thoughts on this? Surely it's something that should be sorted as part of the fitting if the engine?

Sensors oft get messed up during something big like an engine swap. Take it back and have them pull the fault code(s). I'd be guessing at least there is a 30 day warranty. Did a dealer or independent fit it?

A friend picked it up for me as I was away - i wouldn't have driven it off with the light on.

I'll give them a call and get them to pull the codes - and make sure they are not going to charge me for it!
