A Dundee man pointed a gun at an "extremely frightened" couple after a row over a parking space, a court has heard.

Andrew Colvin aimed the "powerful" air rifle at Jaye Hudson and Alexander McGowan after Ms Hudson parked in his private space.

Whilst the accused action's are obviously excessive, one wonders if this is indeed the full story. I just suspect there was a bit more "verbal" involved on both sides

The woman is reported to have agreed to move the car......so why didnt she?

because she almost certainly said, "he wont be long i will move it when he is finished at the chemist".
Instead of just apologising and moving it immediately, in which case the incident and waste of public monney would never have happened.

"Entitled" springs to mind.

So what exactly is he being sentenced for? It says "He was waving the gun about and the witnesses formed the impression he was doing this to intimidate them.", so he didn't even point the unloaded weapon at them which as stated it is not against the law to own one.

All be it as mentioned it was excessive but it sounds like he'd been screaming at her for some time. Give him a telling off and give her a parking fine if that's possible. Job done.

However, from the photo that bloke does look like Tom Sizemore from the film Heat hehe

If she was in his space, she should have just moved. I imagine a slanging match then ensued and this isn't even half the story. However he has admitted pointing the gun at her and his behaviour is strange. Could be a man at the end of his tether with people in his allocated parking that he has paid for I guess?

But I'd imagine it probably is against the law to go brandishing it at random members of the public... wink

Typical BBC reporting tbh.

Fwiw, although I don't agree with the dude pulling a firearm out, I agree with the sentiment that she should have buggered off out of his space. Sounds like she didn't make any effort to move.
