Hi can anybody help , I have just fitted a new fuel pump to my 1999 Carreras 4 and it worked straight away , but now when the car is running I can hear the pump working all the time ! Any suggestions ?

The pump runs all the time the engine is running.

Did you buy a factory pump or some off brand? Maybe the new pump is just noisier than the original pump?

Or perhaps you didn't get the replacement pump secured to the floor of the fuel tank and it is loose and vibrating in the tank?

I had similar problem a couple of years ago... on a classic car, not a 911. Bought an Facet fuel pump (if i recall correctly), changed it twice as it was doing my head in that I could hear it. third time changed it with a rotary fuel pump and it was silent.
