I bought my GT3 from harbour cars a few years back. Brilliant after sales care. Every issue was resolved without question via the AA warranty. It really was as good as a Porsche but they were happy to for me to have a sports exhaust.

Congratulations.
That's great to hear. Was yours a white one? Sure I saw one there in a photo a while ago. Maybe one day I'll buy a GT3... so easy just to dismiss everything a car salesman says but I did get a very good feeling about these guys. I am picking it up today too.

IMO the only Warranty worth having is the Official Porsche one.
This ^^^^ only get a car with and OPC warranty, I wouldn't run my turbo without one tbh. Both cars looks decent try then and see who you feeel.

It's a nice spec and I like the 2 tone interior on the Harbour Car - would just want to negotiate an OPC warranty, ie add one at their cost (think you have to wait 6 months after an indie sale)
This. take the car you want. Squeeze and OPC warranty.

Job Jobbed.

(I know little about Warranties, but I do know OPC covers almost everything. the AA will be all promises)
^All of this.

IMHO, if the "S" car is the one you prefer then, at the age it is, if it is anything like decent an OPC warranty ought to be possible, though perhaps for a small fee. If not - if it does not make the grade for any reason - then walk away.

All depends on your appetite for risk the warranty thing. I wouldn't be without it on my 997 GTS and it's worth it for the peace of mind. My thinking is if I can afford £60k on a car, £1.3k a year on a decent warranty isn't something I should be concerned about.

Although it's a 991, relatively new and with what 'appears' to be a good warranty, my first journey (after 90 days I think) would be to an OPC for a 111-point check and put my hand in my pocket for a warranty. Ideally that pocket would be full of the cash I'd negotiated off the price with the dealer. As I say, that's just me. Congrats on the purchase, great car.

Hi chaps,

Collected the car Friday morning. It was an ultra surreal moment and I forgot what I was actually buying!

Couple of photos, will take a few more soon! Feel extremely lucky to have it.

Haha I didnt ignore, honestly. I did value all the responses. Although I felt 100% comfortable with the dealer and the warranty after reading up on it all a lot. And I am a sceptic with these thing too normally.

Seriously, listen to these people. A non-Porsche typical market warranty is worth practically fk all. If the engine goes pop, you are left with finding £10k of your own money.

Well it's a beautiful car, no doubt.

Enjoy in good health.

But I do beseech you to spend the money on the Porsche warranty. The dealer sold you a bag of bu11 5h1t on that one. All third party warranties are a waste of money and time.

Mmmmmm, I had a theird party warranty for 2 years and made three claims which came to £2000 in total, they paid all them with no issues, I guess some are better than others.

Two bags of sand would barely get the engine out of the car and onto a workbench at Hartech or any other Indie, if push came to shove.

Which (if genuinely accurate) proves that being able to afford the car is not the same as being able to afford to run the car.

It's worth noting that ANY car can suddenly rape you in the ring, should it desire. I had a nearly new Mondeo ST years ago - great car and nowhere near the price to buy as we talk about in these threads. After a short while, if catastrophically fked when the fuel pump failed and pushed metal through the entire fuel system. Ford wouldn't have a bar of it - claimed we had used contaminated fuel (erm....how do you argue that one??) and that cost me over £2k to have fixed.

I think as long as the OP (or any purchaser of any car) is aware of the potential issues and either accepts the risk or prepares themselves in the best way they are comfortable with, that's all they can do.

Nice car, OP! smile
