So after a long wait for the paperwork,,I finally have my Superlight Twenty on the road.

Here's a link to my blog for now as the photos are too large to upload here.

Thanks for the comment.

Yes as you say the seats are fantastic, as you know they are the same seats as fitted to the 620R, with the addition of the limited Superlight Twenty headrest pads.

Since collection I have fitted the larger rear 8 inch wheels and tyres, and yesterday I fitted the carbon aeroscreen too.

Not sized the photos yet, as they are too big to post here when taken with my Nikon SLR .

Here's one of the centre mirror and screen from my iPhone though.

Looks great, how are you finding the power after the R500?

How does it drive? Does the engine rev as sweetly as the old K supersport?
Somebody just asked exactly the same question on blatchat, here's my response.

As it has almost exactly 50% of the power of my previous R500, you would expect that it feels underpowered, however that does not seem to be the case.

I not exactly taking extra care with the first 1000 miles, but I am also not revving it fully to its limit, so have not found the true top end power of the engine.

The whole car feels so very different from my R500, but as you say it must be because that power is more useable, because it's incredible fun.

For some reason I seem to flick through the gears very quickly, and I am soon up,into licence loosing territory, but the car seems alive and makes light work of my usual Local B roads, that I know so well for my cross country blats.

Because of the way you use the gears, and the way the car feels like it wants to rev and stay within a certain part of the power band, I find my self flicking up,and down the box, using 2nd, 3rd and 4th a lot more than usual, and that process of quick rapid changes up and down the box is a one of the great joys of driving a car like this.

So far I am very very happy with my new Superlight, and we are both only at the start of our adventures together!

Thanks James, I hope to get to work on the rest of the alloy too soon, to make it even more shiny!

We are enjoying our bonding experience, took a trip over to the Long Mynd yesterday, a great fun cross country drive of about 110 miles all told!,

I'm sure it looks great with the larger 13" rears on as that is the only visual problem with the low powered cars, the wheels look lost in the back arches.

Does it drive any differently from the original tyres being on the car? I would imagine it feels a bit longer geared and less urgent now.

Is this the best Caterham in your opinion having had an R500?

I agree Mike, hence why I changed them.

As I said even with low power I still think the standard 175 tyres are just too small, I was not driving it hard on my 50 mile drive home, but with a few thousand revs in 1st or second they would slip all over the place.

With the bigger 215 tyres now there's more grip obviously, but the handling seems sweeter with a nice amount of turn in too.

It's a very different beast to my R500 but it's massive amounts of fun!!
