So, the family barge queen Lexus was involved in a shunt, everything's dented and parking sensors smashed. I have taken it to a bodyshop for a quote and knowing it would be expensive and that it's trade in value is less than 1k I am pretty sure it would be a write off.

A new plan has ensued for a new car for the missus for school runs, to drive to work and as a shopping car, the Audi would be used for all other trips - so it doesn't have to be huge, and it should be cheap to run.

The budget is ideally less than £10k and the minimum options are:

- 5 doors
- 55+ mpg
- full leather interior
- not a to stiff ride ( not sure about M Sport)
- hybrids and petrols preferred, dervs ok but full electric is a no no
- sat nav
- not an MPV
- not a Renault or Nissan (as I HATE the Captur and Cumquat!!)
- of a 'premium' badge like Volvo, Lexus, VAG, but Hondas etc. are fine if they are desirable enough
- fairly good resale values
- not older than 2010 (60)

Thanks smile

One question, why the satnav requirement for a school/work/shop run car? surely 99.9% of the roads itll see will be well known?

Anyway, lexus CT200h?

Hmm, well as an Asian family things happen a lot, invited to weddings and birthdays from families happens a lot, often far from us in the Kent or Northwood area, which we do not know.
Eventually the car will have to go somewhere, so i think sat nav is important. A thing we have had in every car, so something we are not going to drop. Not sure if this is a valid excuse hehe

The CT200h fits the bill, but a lot of reviews are negative?

Fair point!

No real experience/opinion on the CT myself though, but it sprung straight to mind given the requirements

I'd say a Mondeo Titanium X would fit the bill Half Leather but apart from that they're loaded with kit & are reliable it's not premium brand but then again neither are Honda or Volvo.
