Is this a thread dedicated to questions (and answers you hope) related to PCP deals or a thread where we can list the details of notable PCP deals and in addition use it as a generic Q&A section?

ETA: ah, your post has clarified. Lovely.

Both I should think. And if you're feeling brave, you could mention the L word. They'll love that.

Drive the deal currently doing £6177.05 discount on the Golf R 3 Dr DSG.

See below approximate figures on a 48 month PCP based on 10k miles per annum:

£362.57 per month
£1000 deposit
5.3% APR
£12,975.30 GFV

Adding options will cost approximately £24 per month for every £1000 added.

Generally speaking, is there any difference to what DTD can save over Orange Wheels and vice versa?

They're all about the same price wise - not much in it. My Golf R was cheaper than everywhere else including a lease (at the time) by going through Drive The Deal - the dealer was also highly recommended on the R forum and the closest deal to me that was cheap. If I was buying now I'd have saved a further £2k and got mine for £28k instead of £30k.

Don't even bother with CarWow - website sends you too many emails and the deals are rubbish.

Totally dependent on model and timing in my experience. Bought two Audi's from two different dealers via carwow in the last 3 years. Both deals were better than DTD, Broadspeed, Orangewheels. This is not to say they are the best, just do your homework and keep an open mind. Sometimes a deal can be a few hundred cheaper, but is that worth a 200mile trip each way etc.

I think just try everything is the very unscientific answer.

Very true on timing and model. My experience of CarWow was too many emails from them that were asking me to update my progress or asking me if I had bought a car yet, or telling me I could get an Amazin voucher. Couple that with the fact that the deals they were offering were no better than anyone could get walking into a dealership put me off.

I like the simple nature of DTD and for me it all just worked out nicely! smile

Also been looking at a similar Golf R deal on DTD. The VW configurator gives me a GFV of £14,900 whereas the finance quote on DTD gives a GFV of £12,975 for the exact same car. Very annoying.

This sounds interesting, what mileage is that GFV with?

Might pop down my local dealer and have a look at one and see how close they can get.

5k per year. Excess is only 6ppm, which is nothing. Seat finance is very flexible, unlike most manufacturer finance where you can only spec 5k then right to 10k, you can go up in increments of 1k with seat.

I popped into a dealer to see how close they could get as the Mrs wants a 290, they couldn't get any lower than 24.8k for the same model with 'every possible discount applied.'

Generally No, but try the just add fuel deals at Peugeot, think they're lease rather than pcp(guess) but insurance, ved, maintenance included.

The figures I quoted are from the VW finance calculator. It sounds like the £14,900 is the GFV for a 36 months PCP.

Thanks for that, found a flexible finance calculator online. If the discount is possible this begins to look quite attractive, even with my 18k miles a year!

Indeed, was amazed at the price for it. Managed to convince the other half to get one rather than one of those SUV things. Win-win.
