I took the opportunity to go to Bkestop in Stevenage at the weekend and they have some impressive stock.

I tried on the Dainese C2 and D1 jacket and they actually fit my skinny legs.

I was close to doing a deal but they didn't have the exact colours I wanted. Where I have a problem is that I asked if they would price match Dainese in Chelsmford with 10% off, I was told a clear NO! So I walked away with the sizes I need. What makes it more annoying is that the same shop will take a '44teeth' discount code online with free delivery! Why wouldn't they offer me this in the shop.

So I will order offline, but maybe only the trousers first as they are expensive! Question is does anybody know if Dainese trousers will connect to Alpinestars?

Dainese won't connect to alpinestars with their standard zips.

Ok thanks, I've just ordered the C2 trousers, I guess if they don't connect then I will order the jacket sooner rather than later.

I'm very surprised BikeStop said this. I've always used them and have always found them to be very accomodating and have always done a deal for me when I've found products cheaper elsewhere. They've even gone really out of their way on occasion to find stuff for me; about 4 years ago I really wanted a Laguna Seca 1pc in black/fluo but everywhere was out of stock. BikeStop hunted for me and after about a week managed to locate one in the right size from Dainese and grabbed it for me.

I'll always recommend them and can't imagine the 'no' stance was typical unless it was a particularly rare item or something unusual which needed to be sourced.

The garments usually come with the opposing zip part attached, so you could always get a clothes maker to remove the original zip on the trouser and stitch in the new zip part to make the jacket and trouser compatible, or vice versa.

I spoke to the chap and explained the situation when I was in store, he was very apologetic as the person who served me only worked weekends. he gave me 10% off over the phone, next day delivery and leather cleaner included.

It's about time I had some decent leather kit, my current size 56 aplinestars jacket is way too big and flaps at high speed, so ill sell it and get a new 52 Dainese D1.

As for my alpinestars 54 trousers, they are a joke and would fit a large midget as they are short, baggy around the leg and waist. In Dainese I am a 52 long and they fit well.

It's almost like they're trying to tie you to a full Dainese outfit.

Haha, you know what I mean. My legs are pathetic and would probably fit in the jacket.

As a mate once said to me 'If you were a house you'd be condemned for bad foundations'

That mate has knackered both knees thru too much footy, mine look st but work fine!
