Street triple ordered!
Discussion
Well my grand intentions of remaining on a nice low powered bike for a while longer have ended. It was a toss up between the Striple and the Mt07/09 but the Striple won me over as a package for everyday (plus that noise when you nail it!). Most of my riding is commuting but I wanted something that could do more when time allows. Having managed to get insurance resolved at a sensible level (praise be to my locked shed winning over the insurers). I've taken the controversial step of taking the 'standard' model in white as it seemed everything I needed and the stonking arrow/bodykit offer + £600 of accessories for the normal price got my attention. What accessories should I stick on it? I've got the usual crash protection in mind, a hugger for the rain then its a question of whether I need leds or the quickshifter. Even more controversially I'm considering the single light conversion at the front but that'll probably be something to ask from santa at the end of the year. Bring on next weekend...
Had mine for about 18 months now and love it every time I'm out.
It's nice and light so you don't need all your mates to push you backwards up a gentle slope.......
Wouldn't bother with a quickshifter as upshifts are (can be) clutchless anyway . Tail tidy is definitely needed though!!
The twin headlights give a good spread of light (I run uprated bulbs in mine).
Enjoy it!!!!

Cheers all, the deal is £500 of accessories (genuine Triumph only) so I might as well spank it! I figure the quickshifter is the one thing I wouldn't splash out on if it was my own cash so why not, it could be fun. The rest of the bling like bar end mirrors and leds I can do in my own time...although the high comfort seat is quite tempting. A tail tidy is definitely on the list but the triumph one looks a bit lame so I'm looking elsewhere, I also fancy taking off the rear pegs to really tidy up the rear.
The colour matched pillion seat cover would be a good addition - they're pretty expensive but if you have £500 of accessories included, you may as well!
Triumph LED indicators are very nice bits of kit too - about £125 for the set with the new relay.
Arrow, definitely!
As well as the above, I have added to my Daytona GB Racing crash bungs (engine mount ones, no fairing cuts), Evotech rad guard and tail tidy (very well made and very 'tidy'), and a Triumph gel seat (I find much better) amongst other things.
I'm not sure about the later bikes, but on the earlier Daytonas and Striples when you remove the pillion footpegs the frame is unfinished. Triumph sell plates to cover this which you could add (25 and the bolts are silver, hardly neat) but with the older bikes, Halfords round plastic trim plugs cover the unpainted circles on the subframe and fit well. Attach them with clear silicone - mine have been there two years and haven't come out. The clear silicone peels off easily though if you choose to remove them. You can also wrap the 'prong' in tape to make it fit tightly in the subframe holes.
Congratulations on your purchase - enjoy!

I got the fly screen, belly pan and seat cowl chucked in as part of their standard deal and for the £600 accessories voucher I got the frame sliders (neater looking than crash bungs), the heated grips which I loved, set to hot they're toasty enough for Scotland but set to medium is usually where I had them on cooler evenings. I got the tyre pressure sensors which were OK I suppose for the peace of mind but I never referred to them so probably a waste. The reading for pressure is buried in the menu and it only works one the wheels have rotated a few times. Can't just turn the bike on and read off the pressures. I got the paddock stand bobbins and a lock which was crap.
Awesome bike though and pretty quick. Easy to clutchless shift so I never missed the quick shifter. Was always tempted to get a louder exhaust but the factory one is alright.
Enjoy it!

I've got the quickshifter on my "stripler", it's utterly pointless but utterly brilliant. As it's an ex-Triumph bike it's also go the belly pan (I like), heated grips (godsend), Arrow exhaust (lovely), comfort seat (meh, but I only briefly rode one without) and probably more options that I've forgotten!
I went for the Evotech tail tidy but haven't got around to fitting it yet, next on the shopping list are some mirrors, not sure which ones yet.

Out of interest..which do you prefer?I've put more miles on the Daytona since I got it than I have the Street so I'm sure that tells a story.
If push came to shove and I had to get rid of one it would be the Daytona (I think).

I keep changing my mind about which one is my favourite, the Street is good fun if I'm out on my own, the Daytona is more suited to being out with mates or MTB on the sportsbikes.

I love the 675 but not tried a Daytona yet.I've put more miles on the Daytona since I got it than I have the Street so I'm sure that tells a story.

Thinking about returning to a Street Triple once i'm able to ride again, bike-less again!!
Hoping there may be some good deals on the current model if a new Street Triple is announced.
