997 GTS - Hexagon

You can't use Hexagon's daft asking prices for a benchmark for where the market really is.
Can't you....?The thing is I've seen a couple of cars here at ABP (for Sharkwerks bypass pipes) which were bought from Hexagon for £70k+ so people are buying them. Every 997 GTS that 911 Virgin or JZM list for sale are sold usually within 2-3 days and these are also creeping up to £65-£70k for relatively poor spec cars now with 25-35k miles so they are selling at this new price level.
When I bought mine in September 2014 it was listed on the Friday and by the time I paid a holding deposit at 3pm that day there were 3 more interested parties (and no it wasn't sales BS) wanting to view that weekend so the desirability seemingly hasn't declined for the last 2 years!
With the 997.2 GT3 (my ideal upgrade) now at £110k+ with good spec examples still selling quickly why wouldn't the very capable and next best 997 be worth £75k...?
Time will tell but I still love mine and as much as I fancy a 997.2 GT3 or 981 Spyder for the time being its a keeper.

Fair point. Good to know that people are paying Hexagon money and using the cars properly! My impression was that trade bids were still sub £60k from posts in forums over the last couple of months and where one car was advertised on eBay before Hexagon bought it.
Without a doubt Hexagon are holding the majority of the GTS cards and they are buying up stock to almost control their values. Both cars we've seen were less than 15,000 miles and both customers paid North of £70,000. I know at least 1 car that was bought by a Porsche specialist at £58k and was sold within 3 days for £64k! chrisABP said:

Someone had a manual 997 GTS cab on the PCGB Forum they were looking to sell in the summer. Told them to try JZM, RPM, Hexagon....Hexagon apparently told them "Go and get as many trade bids as you want and we'll beat the best one"

So lets see how long this GTS lasts for....A 997.2 GTS 4 PDK with 26,000 miles priced at £64,995 and 911V don't usually flex much on prices...

who wants a gen 1 PDK car though !
PDK has come on so much, and if yo want the feel of an older car you are more than likely to go manual.
a 4 PDK must be the worse seller after a Cab !
Plenty of people...this car https://rpmtechnik.co.uk/sales/vehicle/997-gts/ sold at RPM within a few days last month. PDK has come on so much, and if yo want the feel of an older car you are more than likely to go manual.

Is plenty , 1 car lol I am not sure these cars are even selling, RPM are big SOR people like JZM, and loads of cars seems to be going dealer to dealer atm !
And I do mean a LOT of cars seems to be doing the dealer rounds !
I spend hours looking at most dealers and stock at one comes up at another 3 months on !
So are cars really selling ? GT3, RS, have been dead for 8 months, just the same cars pop up every 3 months !

You think all buyers are like us, they're not. There are plenty of punters for PDK 4 cars.PDK has come on so much, and if yo want the feel of an older car you are more than likely to go manual.

There is a software upgrade for the older PDK now that give you blips and brings the box more up to date with the current one.
I thought you would have known that. Take your blinkers off, different people want different things.
You look at these things for hours?? I bet you're a laugh down the pub.

Is that from Porsche?
I was unaware but recently informed on here that there is an update, pretty sure from Porsche but I might be wrong. I was criticising the older PDK at the time for being unexciting after owning a Cayman R with a PDK that ruined my experience.I was then made aware of a software upgrade.
Maybe someone else can shine more light on this? The difference between the old PDK and the newer version in my GTS is night and day.
I got my GTS from an OPC earlier this year and asked that the car had all the latest updates done before I accepted it.
I'm sure the updates have been implemented as the gear changes are lightening fast and it blips etc with the best of 'em, especially in SP...
I've not driven a 991 GTS so can't comment on how they compare...

I have driven the GTS PDK and like anything in life technology and time brings improvements but by no means is it terrible. Values of the 4s with PDK are a good indication that its a good seller. OPC GTS cars go very quickly also. PDK has come on so much, and if yo want the feel of an older car you are more than likely to go manual.

But not as fast as manual 2 wheel drive coupe of which there are none for sale.
I drove a PDK GTS it did not excite at all but I was on the look out for a GT3 at the time, and the GTS was hyped as a cheaper GT3 which it is nothing like, so ruled it out for years.
That's a good thing though, as after buying a GT3 and not liking that, a modded GTS in manual and 2wd would be about my perfect car.
PDK in old gen cars is a VERY small market., just like PDK in a Cayman R is a non seller.
It the ruin of the cars.
Yes you get the odd buyer, but resale is ultra slow and you need luck on your side.

I bought mine in May, it's PDK. Would have had a manual but I like the 7th gear on the motorway and wasn't prepared to wait forever for one to turn up with the spec I wanted.
The gen 1 PDK box is not as good as subsequent versions but that's mainly to do with the car being slow to take off, notably in reverse. On the move it's fine. Stick it in sports mode and its great on a drive out and you can play with the paddles if you want to. On motorways and in traffic I prefer autos anyway.
Annoyingly, I bought mine to use and enjoy, not be too precious about. The Hexagon impact on prices means I am a bit reluctant to do too many miles which I know is completely stupid.
They do drive very well indeed and I really like mine. It was concours a couple of hours before I took this!

I have done the opposite. I've driven mine most days since I bought it, rain or shine. Because I could be dead next year.rob.kellock said:

Don't get me wrong, i do clean my cars but I think they also look good with road grime on them especially whites 911's !The gen 1 PDK box is not as good as subsequent versions but that's mainly to do with the car being slow to take off, notably in reverse.
