Is the leather dash a must have? I'm speccing a GTS.2 and it looks like you can only get a leather dash by speccing the GTS interior, which is £2k+!!!!!

Yes that's right only leather dash with GTS pack. I actually think GTS pack is more like £4500 not 2k as you have to spec leather option too?

It's a heck of a lot of money but as a result you won't need medication for PDD which is very hard to get rid of!

What's the story on the Cat D GTS? I notice the dealer has removed the original narrative. Is there any legal action going on?

The original advert stated that the previous owner (barrister) was in the process of taking legal action.
The original advert stated that the porsche warranty was now void but it no longer states that, would Porsche invalidate the warranty due to its cat d status?

What is the consensus on buying a cat d car of this type?

As I understand it, if the repair work was not carried out and agreed by a Porsche Approved workshop then it would not be eligible for OPC warranty.
It would not make me walk away, dependant on the quality and evidence of the work, but this clearly has price implications beyond the 30% reduction on approved Cat D repaired to market.

From the advert it seems like the previous owner was unaware of the repair and therefore there will be no evidence of the quality of repair carried out. Will a presale inspection be able to determine the quality of repair? Portiacraft state that all they can see was front suspension replacement?

I was just going through some old documents and found the spec sheet for my GTS. As the GTS is fairly well spec'd anyway the person that bought mine new ticked a few boxes, what did he miss? There is no cruise and the center console lid isn't embossed and I believe you could get the air vent slats trimmed in leather, can't think of a lot else! Obviously different materials for the trim.

What else could you have as an option on a GTS? Anyone got any odd options?

Mine:
PDK Gearbox
Heated Seats
Top Tint Windscreen
Xenon Headlamps with Dynamic Cornering
Park Assist
Sport Chrono Pack Plus
PCM 3 Tel
PCM 3 Extended Navigation
Bose Sound System
Rear Seat System
Universal Multimedia Interface
Inlay dash painted car colour
Centre Consul painted in car colour
Sport Seats back painted in car colour
PDK gear lever in Aluminium
Handbrake in Aluminium
Porsche Embossed Headrests
Door Panels in Leather Trim
Gear Lever gate in Leather Trim
Extended leather dashboard
Floor mats with Porsche logo and trim in car colour

Virtual beer for the first person to reply "manual gearbox"!

Leather trimmed sun visors? My old 997.1 GT3 had those, felt like the most random optional extra you could pay money for on an ostensibly sports-focused model.

Of course buckets, I had those in my Spyder and they were the most comfortable seats I've ever had in a car. The wife hated them though and used to take a cushion with her when we went out!

Mine has a few that you don't

Adaptive Seats
Isofix in front seat (rare but very useful as I can turn off the Airbag when I have kids in the car)
Illuminated Sills
Home Link
Cruise (quite common)

5 stud wheels is rare!

I wish my car had Sports PASM with LSD and buckets would be pretty cool!

I have the full price list( snaffled last week on eBay) The guy that ordered yours certainly went to town on the interior!

Great spec GTS just come up on auto trader. 2wd, manual, short shift, sports chassis with LSD and most importantly no PDD for the owner! High mileage so I think it's expensive at £57k but great usable car. If you can buy that for closer to 50 than 60 would be a good buy,

One of the first cars.

Leather looks fairly worn.

Not full OPC history.

Part missing badging and rear GTS badge looks crooked....paintwork?

£45k tops with the high mileage.

It'll sell for more than that. Unless there is anything undisclosed.

That GTS looks like Jack Wood's old 997 also featured in GT Porsche magazine.

He sold it last year and sure he can give some feedback on the car.

Think it still has a Sharkwerks bypass pipe and DSC suspension module if it's the car...

Yea must have been crashed...... pfff

That looks very much like my old car.

It left me last summer with the wonky GTS badge, so guessing it's still not been crashed... I stuck the sticker on after the OPC that were refreshing the suspension snapped the lettering when they were cleaning it, so they sent me a new badge that I stuck on, wonky. The Carrera part is in an envelope with all the receipts with the car.

Mechanically the car was absolutely mint. It had had thousands and thousands of pounds of suspension parts including LCS's, trailing control arms, rear hubs, drive bolts, etc etc under warranty while owned it.

The two services I had done on it were by Mike at Sports and Classic, who has looked after all my Porsches and still looks after my GT3. Do a search on here to see how well he is respected.

The car also had a new gearbox (which also includes a new diff) fitted by the OPC after I complained it was difficult to get into first.

Anyone that wants to know anything else about it, just PM me. Obviously I don't know where it's been for the last 5 months, but it was an amazing car for me and I miss it dearly.

Good to hear. I'd be tempted if I was looking for a manual GTS. The miles wouldn't worry me at the right price.
