Anyones on here?
That is a nice car and with an OPC warranty....I'd bid him £60k tops though as trade bid is mid/high 50's!

PDK C4 GTS in the UK = 247

The figures show that a Manual 997.2 C4 GTS is one of the rarest Porsche's in the UK!
corrected for you, just a quick scan of dvla site and only about 100 manual 997.2 gts

I think your figure is for the both the Carrera 2 and Carrera 4.

Took mine to the PEC with the 997 PCGB register....90 mins driving mine around the circuits with one on one instruction.

Second time I have done it and was a little bit greasy today because of the weather which was brilliant....got the back out a couple of times biggrin Not by design but managed to control it relatively well.
That must have been you leaving just as I arrived then. I had the back end stepping out every time I came out of the bomb hole in 2nd.
Ah that's a shame could have compared notes. You have the Sharwerks kit fitted IIRC...I really wish I heard your car!!!

Yes when the car was a bit light there it stepped out nicely didn't it. I also got it to do it a couple of tImes when you come down hill after the kick plate on the other track. Classic end of session piushing a bit harder than I realised...

In typical bloke style I had really read up on Sport mode and now know that when Sport is selected it lets the car get a bit looser before PSM kicks in. 12 deg vs 7 deg apparently!
We must have been there at the same time, I was with my father in his black C4S. Excellent fun.
Ah I think we were in the same drivers briefing then ? I was sat at the back and there was a father and son sat near the front ?

Which one? All my figures courtesy of DVLA
Sorry for the lack of clarity...I think there were 100 997 GTS Manual cars total across Carrera 2 and 4.

Thoughts on the black C4GTS at Brooklands?
I prefer the grey one they have....slippy diff, alcantara interior and THE LEATHER DASH (which as much discussed is THE most important option on a GTS).

A couple of GTS manual cars just under £60k on Auto Trader

Black one looks the better buy...better condition and less miles and a "2" ! Best priced one I have seen from a trade seller in a loooong time.

Black one looks very nice. I have noticed 997 GTS prices are softening a bit, maybe sellers are just being more realistic (well all but Hexagon!).

I hit the 55k mile mark in mine at a Snetterton trackday recently, I guess I'll have to pay someone to take it from me with that mileage!
There are definitely a lot more around....part seasonal I am sure but I reckon the silly prices Hexagon are asking (and not achieving very often) has flushed out some sellers.

Where are you seeing all these cars? There's only one 2wd coupe left in the network.
Sorry, I wasn't talking 2wd coupe's rather generic GTS's

was a nice by at £60k sub 20k miles, but now miles have gone up as have prices, not great value imo.

You are at a point low miles cars are more than I paid for my GT4 !
and again just about gets you into a 997 GT3.

Edited by Porsche911R on Monday 5th December 19:00
The price you paid for your GT4 is irrelevant unless you want to sell it for that though! Also the GTS's gearing is somewhat better suited to road use than the GT4 with its 85 mph second gear! They're actually quite closely matched in some ways...GTS has 20 more bhp and the Gt4 is 100kg lighter. Clearly the GT4 has got (most of) its big brothers suspension set up though

GTS's pop up from good dealers for at least £5k less than Hexagon ask, you just have to be patient.

The 997 GTS gets a mention and 5 star rating in this month's Evo

" Few 911s before or since have been blessed with the breadth of talent to take everyday use in their stride yet offer a driving high so sweet you’re left questioning the need for anything faster or more aggressive"

There are plenty of people who've driven a lot more 911's than me that rate it very highly. It's just a fantastic road car in my book, where I drive mine on country roads/lanes there's just no need for anything faster, firmer riding or bigger.

Some people won't pay £90k for a GT4 which is fair enough, I won't pay £75k for a GTS.

All these cars are crazy prices, :-(
£75k for a GTS is a nonsense in my book....feels to me like £20k to £25k is about the right differential for a 997 GTS vs a 991 GTS or a GT4...I suspect that is about what the difference is in trade prices is (although maybe less at the moment in the case of the GT4 because of the amount on the market in the short term). You can't use Hexagon's daft asking prices for a benchmark for where the market really is.

It could be a rocky 2017 so I wouldn't be surprised if prices fell a little. the GT3 market seems very stagnant. JZM seem to be the only outfit selling continuously?

I think 997 GTS' will be fairly stable, maybe a slight drop but the more expensive stuff will soften. Just my prediction.
I bought my car in Feb last year as something to enjoy but in the expectation that over the next few years I will lose money on it....I still believe that. The current "new paradigm" will revert to the norm at some stage.

I agree that I think prices will soften...all those new 991.2 GT3's, GT3 RS's, GT2's and GT2 RS's have to find a home and many of those cars will be bought by people that own 991.1's etc.

Can't you....?

The thing is I've seen a couple of cars here at ABP (for Sharkwerks bypass pipes) which were bought from Hexagon for £70k+ so people are buying them. Every 997 GTS that 911 Virgin or JZM list for sale are sold usually within 2-3 days and these are also creeping up to £65-£70k for relatively poor spec cars now with 25-35k miles so they are selling at this new price level.

When I bought mine in September 2014 it was listed on the Friday and by the time I paid a holding deposit at 3pm that day there were 3 more interested parties (and no it wasn't sales BS) wanting to view that weekend so the desirability seemingly hasn't declined for the last 2 years!

With the 997.2 GT3 (my ideal upgrade) now at £110k+ with good spec examples still selling quickly why wouldn't the very capable and next best 997 be worth £75k...?

Time will tell but I still love mine and as much as I fancy a 997.2 GT3 or 981 Spyder for the time being its a keeper.

Chris
Fair point. Good to know that people are paying Hexagon money and using the cars properly! My impression was that trade bids were still sub £60k from posts in forums over the last couple of months and where one car was advertised on eBay before Hexagon bought it.

Without a doubt Hexagon are holding the majority of the GTS cards and they are buying up stock to almost control their values. Both cars we've seen were less than 15,000 miles and both customers paid North of £70,000. I know at least 1 car that was bought by a Porsche specialist at £58k and was sold within 3 days for £64k!
There's no "almost control their values" about it...done it many times. I used to buy my BMW's from them when they were a BMW dealer....got to know the Head of Sales very well, When they were BMW dealers because they were privately owned their big advantage was that they didn't have to trade cars on after 90 days so they used to buy the best cars and sit on as other dealers didn't have the ability. They single handededly took Z8's from £50k to £100k...they used to own 8 or 10 at a time. Similar tactics with E39 M5's, M Coupe's etc. People moan about their stupid asking prices but nobody is forced to buy from them and they certainly never used to do SOR, all their own stock. Before Paul Michaels sold the BMW dealership they were the most profitable used car BMW franchise in the country. I only ever bought new cars from them...The AUC ones were stupid money!

Someone had a manual 997 GTS cab on the PCGB Forum they were looking to sell in the summer. Told them to try JZM, RPM, Hexagon....Hexagon apparently told them "Go and get as many trade bids as you want and we'll beat the best one"

PDK has come on so much, and if yo want the feel of an older car you are more than likely to go manual.
a 4 PDK must be the worse seller after a Cab !
Plenty of people...this car https://rpmtechnik.co.uk/sales/vehicle/997-gts/ sold at RPM within a few days last month.

The Unicorn...manual, 2wd, coupe, alcantara and leather dash biggrin It's not for sale and I bloody love it! Only gets used at weekends but when it does get used it gets used properly. I've done two sessions at PEC organised by PCGB which have been brilliant.

The leather Sport Design wheel is great and if my car was a DD that is what I would have....my car originally came with the leather multi function wheel which I don't like
