Have gone slightly overboard with the spec of the new 991.2, including PTS in Oak Green. If the colour is good enough for Walter, is good enough for me, only his is a 911R. Doh!
Walter also rocks the socks with the sandals. Would you copy that too?

I will be amazed if it isn't sold by the weekend....

The price obviously reflects its price but if you're buying it to use its a great car to buy as it removes the concern of putting miles on a low-miler.
As I thought - SOLD! Deposit taken today.

Hi T25UFO When does 991.2 arrive? I've also ordered oak green .2GTS and was hoping it would be pretty exclusive, but I've since seen a Targa and now yours as well. Mines planned for a September build currently but I haven't locked down yet and am umming over all the exclusive options on offer.

My spec is locked down - I wanted to do that asap in case PTS caused delays. I was told delivery around October, so probably the same timeframe as you, but that was before I went for PTS. My order is with OPC Colchester and I will call in next week to get an update. As far as the colour is concerned, I also considered Brewster Green, but that looks almost black in some light.

My spec includes the GTS pack in Rhodium Silver (that should look great with Oak Green), full Alcantara, manual gearbox, rear wheel steering, carbon ceramics, and front axle lift - I recently borrowed a Carrera S with -10mm suspension and it grounded on my drive approach, so lift is essential. I hope there won't be too much of a delay as I've already booked a provisional date with Definitive Detailing to have the car Gtechniqed.

Well they will look the same but different! I think I'm going PDK, RWS, sport design kit and Alcantara/leather exclusive interior with Rhodium stitching (as you say I think it will look superb). I'm currently at around £115-116 which I would like it a few k lower but am having trouble taking bits off. My OPC is trying to get me to lockdown and hopefully after a PEC day tomorrow I'll be able to do it.

I know they build in batches where possible so I guess it's likely they'll be built close together and probably arrive around the same time. I'll let you know when I get a date.

Agree it looks a good one but its a PDK car as opposed to the 911V manual. Only 1 manual 997 GTS in the OPC network - Grey coupe, 28k miles at £77,995!
Yes I noticed that, but outside of pistonheads PDK is still probably the preferred choice. Upside of manual is cheaper maintenance long term - I wouldn't want to replace a PDK unit. I genuinely haven't watched the market but are these £80k GTS's selling out of interest?
Well.. 2 months on and Portsmouth's 28k mile 1-owner manual Grey coupe is still for sale. Good cars but too much money @ nearly £80k.

Well the day has come and I'm going to put my GTS on the market, very sad.

I think it will be returned to standard before it's traded in so will shortly have a carbon ducktail, aero splitter, x-pipe and lowering springs for sale if anyone fancies pepping up their car!

The GTS is a great car and will really miss it's all round ability but I want to free up the funds so when the right thing comes along I can move for it straight away. With some of the prices being asked for GT Porsches now it looks like I might even move away from the marque.

The Portsmouth car was mine - sold it in May for £67k. I can vouch for the fact that it is a lovely car but looks like they are trying to make too much on the sale. I expected it to be listed around £75k, which still gives a decent profit. Maybe they are just happy to keep it in the showroom.

I added a bit to the proceeds and bought a very lightly used (173 miles!) GT4 and am very happy with this purchase. Ride and handling are way better - the sport suspension setting on the 997 was virtually unusable on UK roads, but the GT4 is in a different league. This purchase was intended as a stopgap while waiting for my 991.2 GTS - not expected until mid next year because of PTS colour, but may decide to keep the GT4 instead.

67k is a good price you received. To be fair to Portsmouth OPC the market for anything special, rare, limited, last of this, last of that, etc etc was rising like nobody has witnessed before so dealers have kept adding a few grand here and there to their retail prices - it's business after all. It had to reach the top eventually. They aren't going up in value today and some cars are slowly going back down - not bursting but just a correction.

re GT4 - more fun than a 997 GTS but it's a totally different car.

I agree that £67k is a fair price. I had the same offer from two independents but decided to sell to the OPC because the process was so simple. Driver came to pick the car up at my house, did a CHAPS transfer, I checked my online banking and waited until the amount popped up, handed over the keys, deal done. Nice people to deal with as well.

I bought the car new in September 2011 for £80k - the list price was £90k but I managed a good discount because all OPCs wanted to move 997 stock to make way for the incoming 991. It was used as a second car for most of my ownership, never tracked and very well looked after. It will make a good purchase for someone, but perhaps for a little less than £78k.

I've probably bought the GT4 at the wrong time - perceived wisdom is that prices are dropping - but people worry too much about losing money. I've never been fortunate enough to buy a depreciation proof car, no GT3 allocation etc, so I just plan to enjoy the car and deal with the loss as and when.

GT4 is still pretty safe IMO as a low-cost-ownership car. Yes, the market has turned slightly but some of that is down to too many cars for sale atm. As you say - just enjoy the car and be thankful it's not going to haemorrhage money.

Back to 997 GTS - mine listed at 84k and I paid 73k. I had the choice of probably a dozen or so cars but chose a white manual with BOSE, SC etc etc. Even though the dealers had to give big discounts and it was a run-out model it was still good value but IMO the GTS badge is now too diluted for it to be an investment hence the £70k+ cars struggling.

Sorry if this question has been covered (didn't have time to scroll through the 22 pages of this thread) but is a 997 GTS 4 deemed less desirable than the 2?

I am looking for a PDK car at the moment but with a sunroof which is seriously limiting the options. Also considering a 997 turbo PDK.

The most sort after car is a RWD Manual GTS Coupe...for a PDK car I really don't think it matters whether a 2 or a 4. Sunroof is a rare option. Good luck!

Old thread resurrection after seeing a stunning manual GTS (with Aerokit) come up for sale at 911V for what I thought was Hexagon money.......!

But in reality after looking again at the latest Hexagon prices I think Tom at 911V has priced his 17,000 miles 2wd Manual GTS with aerokit and very desirable spec & history at £79,995 which is arguably the best GTS for sale in the UK. Will be interesting to see if it sells as this is the highest price 911V have ever placed on a 997 GTS and Tom usually sells these very quickly. If I were in the market for a manual 997 GTS this is where my money would be going.
http://www.911virgin.com/porscheforsale/1260/997GT...

Hexagon have still got nine (9!) GTS for sale at strong money but my biggest shock was their Manual GTS Carrera 4 with just 7,670 miles at £99,995!!! This is one of the rarest Porsche' ever made with less than 20 ever coming to the UK but £99,995 is still very serious money....

I saw that 911 V car...does look strong money. Be very interested to see if they sell it quickly.

Paragon sold this car last week

£75k for a 28k mile PDK 4 GTS with Alcantara Delete ? Seems like too much to me even if the buyer got a couple of grand off.
