Well, now the Pound is tanking .. what you looking for?

Jag F Type, or a new Aston?

I've $20, recon I'll take both.

The new rules come in next year (or is it 2018?) so potentially some absolute bargains to be had.

Fancy that new M4 for $75k...

hehe

Only been here for a few months, so still suffering the deficit of moving money over. Like your thinking though - been hankering for something off the SEVS scheme since getting here. Griff 4.3BV?

I'm going to have spare £ very soon when a sale goes through. The exchange rate means I might look at bringing in some metal instead. But I don't even know were to start!

I do have a spare import approval in my wifes name though....

Could well be moving over in the couple of years. Plans afoot with a visit for the F1 in March to suss out Melbourne and the area.

With regard to cars, what are import duties on second hand cars like?

We will need a shipping container for personal effects so I might as well bring a car.

Thinking of something like this....

What would be the approx charges once it hits the ground in Aus? Would I be better off getting one out there?

Thanks.

I wouldn't bother. They are everywhere here and a UK import would probably not be worth as much as a genuine Aus spec car.

I would be keeping it and running it into the ground over the years. I would get a Wildtrak as has a few more toys on it. Quick look they appear to be around the 50-60K A$ whereas around £18K here.
