been away for a while- tyres

Hello all.
I've been away from riding for several years now. My brother has offered me the use of his monster ZX10 which I did a track day on the other week. It was amazing and re-lighted my love of 2 wheels like I wasn't expecting.
Tyres on it are track day affairs, so I'm wanting to put a set of road tyres on it.
What are considered to be the best tyres these days for the big bikes?

Best to find other owners of the same bike. K1300S was Pilot Road 4's but there have been some new stuff out there that looks good.

I have Maxxis Magsport, but that's on a 125 they handle well and allow some big (in my eyes) lean angle. Rain grip is great apart from on drains like any tyres as I found out last night, bum clenchy moment

they are classed as sport mileage tyres

Yeah I'm not sure they're suitable for a zx10r.....

I've just put a set of s20 evo's on my bike, only done 170 miles on them so far but they seem very good compared to the Pirelli Angel gt's ive taken off. They aren't the latest model but they are more than good enough for me on the road, and cheap at £170 for the pair.

I've also been recommended the S20 evo's, ok they are last years model, but I've been told they perform well on road and track.

Also a lot cheaper than the 7RR's and Corsas

If it's for track and road, Diablo Rosso Corsa are pretty hard to beat.

BT023s seem to work well for everyone at the Ron Haslam track school...only person I saw really troubling them was Leon Haslam and a couple of the instructors, I was amazed at how good they were.

Id wager 99% of road riders fit sticky road /track orientated tyres for confidence and never get near any limits of the tyres actually ability to grip but confidence is worth a few BHP im sure..

Perfect for the road, handle track fine too.

Even in the wet they're not too bad, had a couple of little slips but nothing without a bit of warning and it was my own fault.

Mileage isn't great though. Killed a rear in 1500 miles and I'm st.

For wet weather bias, I used pilot road 4's. For dry weather, S20 Evo's.

Both work well in either conditions and make an OK occasional track tyre.

This man knows. As a road tyre and occasional track tyre as long as you aren't top end of fast group these would be brilliant

I recently did Isle of Man on a Rosso Corsa, I gave it some right stick over the mountain and national sections and it held really well

I am told the M7RR is a better all year round tyre though and good in wet where as the Corsa is ok at best

I had the M5s on my last bike and they were great. Will be putting some Metzelers on the new one when they need them.

1500 miles....that puts me off!

i got over 3500 miles on PP3's and that was with a full day at Silverstone and eve session at Snetterton.

I presume the 7RR will last longer than the S20's?
