Best place to sell a bike?
Discussion
Mine was an old VFR and I put on ebay as an auction. Always over share information - loads of pics and service history. Set your st line (lowest price you'll accept) and then everything else is gravy. I've sold my last two cars and last three bikes in the same way. Easy and relatively painless (idiots are everywhere after all). Higher value stuff maybe not but for sub-£4k I think that works well enough.
I've only had a couple of bikes over the past 5 years, & have PX'ed at dealer. Least hassle etc.
However, I think I may sell my current bike privately soon. was thinking Autotrader Bikes. What is the etiquette/protocol for potential punters? How does one stop a test ride becoming a robbery? Proof of insurance etc?

You get him to turn up with ID, and with a car or bike and a V5 in his name. Then you swap keys and if he doesn't come back you have his bike/car and know where to send the police. Or you sit on the pillion. However, I think I may sell my current bike privately soon. was thinking Autotrader Bikes. What is the etiquette/protocol for potential punters?
